Despite releasing in early December, Marvel Rivals has already added two characters to it's roster with Mr Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.
Of course, with those two must come two more, because how can you have only half of the Fantastic Four?
Those two remaining heroes, The Thing and Human Torch, are set to release on February 21st, and thanks to a leak, we now know the abilities that Human Torch will have when he is added to the game.
Human Torch is set to be a three-star difficulty character, so while he won't take as long to master as some of the other characters in the game, he won't just be plug and play like someone like Rocket or Jeff.
It is also unclear as to whether he is a flying character, like Storm or Iron Man, but due to his movement ability Plasma Body, it is safe to assume that he will at least be able to fly temporarily in the way that Star Lord can.
As we said earlier, it is unclear as to what level of flight Human Torch will have. However, due to the fact that the Flaming Meteor ability makes it so Human Torch can dive to the ground, it is safe to assume his flight will be more similar to Storm than Star Lord.
Although, this does raise a slight problem when it comes to how is best to play Human Torch in Marvel Rivals and the best heroes to play him alongside.
Flying heroes are best countered by hit scan heroes, such as Star Lord and Punisher. One flying character can see their impact massively reduced by the presence of one of these two characters on the enemy team, two could mean that your team's dps is massively reduced.
Human Torch's Marvel Rivals abilities also lead us to believe that he will be best utilised on maps with control points and in the Domination gamemode. his abilities seem best used for area denial, which is imperative in the Domination mode.
Due to Human Torch's Supernova ultimate ability dealing AoE damage, it's best usage might be with characters who can stun or weaken opponents before it's activation.
Therefore, tanks such as Doctor Strange or Venom, due to their ultimate abilities, could be very good when combined with Human Torch.
Doctor Strange will also be a strong partner with Human Torch because of his shield, which will protect Human Torch with some of the vulnerabilities that come with being a flying character. Likewise, Magneto will also be effective.
When it comes to supports, or Strategists, the best combinations with Human Torch will be ones who don't require aim to heal. This is because, if Human Torch is a flying character, he can be a lot harder to heal with characters such as Invisible Woman and Luna Snow. Therefore, healers such as Cloak & Dagger and Rocket may be better used alongside Human Torch.
However, that doesn't mean that Luna Snow or Invisible Woman won't be good in combination with Human Torch. Due to the Supernova ability, Luna Snow or Invisible Woman's ultimate abilities may work well in combination with Human Torch.
Not only will their ultimates infinitely heal all allies within their radius, it also means that Human Torch will be protected while using his own ultimate.
Human Torch will release in Marvel Rivals alongside The Thing on February 21st. They are the third and fourth heroes to be added to the game, after the other half of the Fantastic Four, Invisible Woman and Mr Fantastic.
Their release was also originally intended to coincide with a rank reset, however this has been cancelled by the games' developers due to outcry from fans.
With his release not long away now, you will already know his abilities and how to play as Human Torch in Marvel Rivals.
