Marvel Rivals, NetEase’s superhero-themed hero shooter, boasts 33 characters on release. Comparatively, Overwatch arrived in May 2016 with 21 characters.
It would take 6 years, and the announcement of the sequel, for Blizzard’s hero shooter to reach the number of characters that Rivals is releasing with. An impressive feat by NetEase.
Here are all superheroes that you can get your hands on, in alphabetical order in their respective class.
Duelists are Marvel Rivals’ PVP heroes. Unlike with most other games in the genre though, they aren’t just variations on multiple kinds of shooters. There is quite a healthy divide between melee and ranged-focused classes.
The roster also has a good mixture of famous and more obscure heroes hailing from Marvel’s beloved comic books. There are 18 playable Duelists.
Strategists, the brains behind the brawns, are our supports and healers. At the time of writing this, there are only seven Strategists, making it the class with least representation.
Don’t fret, though, there are quite a few unique concepts in these designs, which are elevated by the fantastic Team-Ups they share with others in the roster.
At the front of the battlefield, as their name implies, the Vanguards stand tall. These are our tanks, using shields, weird gadgets, or their massive size as protection for their allies.
There are eight available Vanguards, with enough variety to keep us entertained until future releases.
Marvel Rivals releases on December 6th on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Preloading is available on Steam, which is something you should take advantage of. The game, which is built using Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 architecture, weighs a bit over 70GB.
It is a free to play title which will release with microtransactions, including a battle pass that you can complete even once its season is over.
