The correct course of action after trying every character in Slay The Spire 2 is, obviously, maining The Regent. His nonchalant posture and the fact that he has two distinct playstyles that can both be used aggressively are just too good to pass on.

So if you’re wondering how to best execute with the heir to the throne of the stars, you’ve come to the right place. Here are the best Regent builds in Slay The Spire 2.
There is a very unconventional but surprising functional deck style for The Regent which revolves entirely around Card Creation. You might be wondering what counts as creating a card in Slay The Spire 2, which is understandable.
The game considers that you create a card when you literally create it (like forging your Sovereign Blade for the first time), but also when you Transform a card into something else, or when you Add a card via another (for example, Regent cards that add Debris to your hand).
To make this deck work you need the Regent card Supermassive, which will become your main source of damage.

With Supermassive as your deck base, you’ll want to slam as many cards in your deck that Create in one way or another. The Regent has multiple cards that add Debris and Transform others, and that will be your main way of farming Creations.
There are two useful Powers for this deck, which are Spectrum Shift and Pillar of Creation. Furthermore, you can also invest into the excellent Entropy, a colorless power which allows you to Transform one card in your hand per turn.
Just be aware that this deck requires you to play aggressively, especially if you’re building around Transforms and Debris. Debris will fill your Discard pile with clutter and Transformed minions are all Exhaust cards.
While a Sovereign Blade deck sounds simple on paper, it rarely plays out like that. There are a ton of enemies that directly counter the Sovereign Blade playstyle, namely those who reduce all damage taken to 1.

With that being said, if you manage to nail the correct cards, this deck can feel beyond broken. As you might guess, this deck focuses entirely on buffing and maximizing your uses of the Sovereign Blade. Unlike the Card Creation one, though, it will also require a bit of investment into cards that require Stars.
The most important card in your deck obviously is the Sovereign Blade, but this is a very Power-heavy deck, too. You have multiple Powers which Forge, and others which vastly change how your Blade works. Seeking Edge turns your Sovereign Blade into an AOE attack, Sword Sage makes it hit twice, but cost one more Energy. Orbit, which gives you extra energy every time you spend four of it, is also a good bet. This is an Energy-heavy deck.
Crucially, you want to skip a lot of card rewards while playing with this deck to avoid clutter. The more time you spend with the Sovereign Blade out of your hand, the less damage you deal, by far. Furthermore, I recommend heavily investing into Blocks and refraining from investing into other attacks. You don’t need more damage, you just need to survive until your Blade is back in your hand.
The last deck we want to highlight for the best Regent builds is the one which revolves entirely around the character’s unique resource system: Blue Stars. A little less than half of all Regent cards consume or build Blue Stars. Unlike the Sovereign Blade one, you want to stack as many cards as possible on this build (as long as they interact with Blue Stars in some way), especially to buff up your Crescent Spears.

This is the most versatile build you can opt for with the Regent. There is no one god-tier card beyond the Crescent Spear, which also stack with each other, so get as many as possible. There are two excellent Powers, though: Black Hole and Child of the Stars, which damage enemies and give you block, respectively, every time you spend or gain Blue Stars.
Unlike the two other builds highlighted here, the Blue Stars deck heavily benefits from a specific Relic, one given by the Ancient Orobas, which replaces Divine Right with Divine Destiny. This grants you six instead of three Blue Stars at the start of each combat.
