Besides The Regent, which we’ve already written a guide for, Slay The Spire 2 features another newcomer, who brings their own friend: The Necrobinder.
This skinless hero doesn’t feel lonely, even when playing solo, because they always have their friend Osty by their side. Osty is a skeletal hand who you can play around, if you so choose. Here are the best Necrobinder builds in Slay The Spire 2.
The first thing you’ll want to do, of course, is to play around your new friend, Osty. To do so, you’ll have to build a deck entirely around Summons and other Osty-focused cards.
Summoning will spawn or revive Osty if they aren’t around yet, otherwise when you use a Summon card you will raise Osty’s Max HP by the value that says on the card.

This is crucial for two reasons: Osty will tank any damage directed at you before you take it (and after blocking is taken into account), with very few exceptions; furthermore, Unleash, your biggest DPS card, deals additional damage based on Osty’s current HP. If you’ve raised it considerably, you’ll be hitting like a truck.
Beyond Unleash, you’ll want to invest into as many cards in which Osty deals damage and grabbing as many Flatten as possible, which will be free as long as Osty has hit during your turn.
For powers, Friendship is OP because Strength does not affect Osty’s attacks, and any power that impacts Osty or Summon in any way will be good.
If you want the new and improved version of Poison— sorry, Silent—, forget all about Osty and stack up on Doom. Doom is a debuff (this is an important definition) which immediately kills an enemy if their amount of Doom is higher than their current HP at the end of their turn.
So if you stack 50 Doom on a boss and they end their turn at or below 50 HP, they immediately perish, regardless of how much Block they might have. Crucially, though, this only happens when their turn ends, so keep in mind that they’ll always play their turn before dying.

Beyond stacking Doom cards, you’ll want to invest into any and all Debuffs. Sleight of Flesh is an extremely powerful Power for this build because Doom counts as a Debuff, so every time you apply it, you will deal damage to your enemy.
You’ll also want to prioritize defensive cards over offensive ones. With the Doom deck, you will be running a marathon as the lungless Necrobinder, so be patient and enjoy the inevitable Doom that comes for your enemies.
The most unique build that we have for The Necrobinder is one entirely around Ethereals, which isn’t a mechanic exclusive to this character, but one which they utilize better than anyone else. Ethereal cards are Exhausted if you have them in your hand and don’t play them.
The Necrobinder excels with Ethereal decks because he has more cards with that mechanic in his arsenal, and because of Banshee’s Cry, the most important card in the entire build, by far.

Beyond Ethereal cards, you’ll want to slightly invest into Souls as a precaution. This deck is much more aggressive than either of the aforementioned options, and leaves or dies on how you drawing the right cards and, crucially, not letting your most important ones be Exhausted.
We recommend leaving this deck for later into the game as rarer cards are crucial for it to work. When you pull it off, though, you’ll feel absolutely invincible.
