Stand-ins meant that Spirit missed out on their chance to book a place at BLAST Premier Spring Final at the first time of asking but they have already secured a place at BLAST Premier World Final thanks to their win at IEM Katowice.
An incredible run, it featured a tier one LAN debut from donk that you had to see to believe - and even then it was difficult.
Spirit's win in Poland has truly cemented them as the team to watch out for in 2024.
Their IGL, chopper, has bags of experience, and few teams boast the AWP firepower Spirit does with sh1ro, but it's another name that took the Counter-Strike world by storm during the event.
At just 17 years of age, donk already boasts two HLTV MVP awards, and his performances at IEM Katowice are officially the greatest of any player in history.
Putting up numbers that we never thought we'd see again, the 17-year-old was a composed figure on the server, spearheading Spirit to a premier trophy with just one map loss in that time.
On their run to the Katowice trophy they beat a host of the world's top teams, including NAVI, Complexity, Falcons, and FaZe not once, but twice, with the second of those being a dominant 3-0 victory in the final.
karrigan was reduced to tears after the final, and we don't blame him considering the level of fear donk must have just instilled in every other team.
His teammate, ropz, who is known for typically being able to give a well-thought-out answer was similarly flabbergasted, he had just one word to say:
With Katowice now concluded, all eyes will turn to the RMRs and then Copenhagen Major, where people will now be watching with anticipation to see if donk can carry his form forward to lift Spirit to another trophy and instantly write his name into the CS history books.
Sandwiched between those events however is the Spring Showdown, where, with donk, Spirit now look like an absolutely terrifying prospect to all teams involved.
