Day two of European RMR B has now concluded and with that so too has the 2-0 games.
With our first two teams qualifying from the group, read on for the rundown on how they did it!
Coming into the event, Polish squadron 9INE had been enjoying a rapid rise up the rankings following their addition of former ENCE AWPer hades.
While hopes were high for the team, they still remained an underdog. So no one could have expected the scale of the success they would have in Copenhagen.
With a tough first match against G2, many would have expected 9INE to have needed to battle back from an opening defeat. However, 9INE rolled back the years for Polish Counter-Strike and put the sword to G2, defeating them 16-14 on their home map, Nuke.
Next up was BIG, a team who is no stranger to the RMR system and the pressure that comes with it. Another close game, this time going to overtime, once again 9INE prevailed with a 19-15 scoreline on Mirage.
For their 2-0 game, another tough match up was ahead of them with Vitality set to be their opponents. Of course, this was no real challenge for 9INE, who came into the RMR with seemingly only one goal: making qualification look easy.
KEi and hades were the stars on Vertigo as 9INE's tier two hardened T side proved too much for Vitality's international squad to manage. With a 9-6 lead at the half, 9INE kept the momentum going on their CT side to win map one 16-11.
hades kept up the immense form he has displayed since joining the squad on Anubis, with multiple huge rounds with the AWP on T side to consistently cut down Vitality's defence. It was Kylar who stepped up to help him this time round, top fragging with 24 kills to send Vitality packing and 9INE through to the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
Heroic are undoubtedly one of the best teams in the world right now, a fact they reasserted by their performances in Copenhagen.
Up first was the Bulgarians of 500, who the Danes dispatched on Inferno with ease. Next was Aurora, the CIS squad many experts have picked as a dark horse to qualify from the event. Once again, Heroic prevailed, and while this game was a much closer 16-14 on Mirage, the experience of cadiaN's squad proved to be key in victory.
Their 2-0 game would be played against Monte, the team who took down their CIS rivals Cloud9 on day one.
In two close games, once again the experience of Heroic would prevail. Jabbi and TeSes would both have strong performances in map one with both players dropping 20 kills to secure their opponent's map pick of Mirage 16-12.
Map two was an even closer affair, with Monte looking at 14-14 like they might be able to push it to overtime. It took every member of Heroic to step up to win the game, but saved rifles at 14-14 were enough to help the Danes to take control of the match once more. With a top frag from captain fantastic cadiaN, Heroic saw off their opponents 16-14.
