While there was quite a few shock results on day one of European RMR B, day two is mostly a return to our regularly scheduled programming.
Of course, it wouldn't be an RMR without upsets, so read on for our rundown of the day's events.
In the 2-0 bracket, Heroic and 9INE became the first two teams to qualify for the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
Pitted against redemption-arc sdy and Monte, the Danes of Heroic would see off their rivals in two close maps of Mirage and Overpass. Jabbi was the MVP of the series, with two stellar performances to see his team become the first team to make their way to Paris.
Next up was 9INE, the relative underdog in their match against Vitality. The ranking deficit didn't seem to bother them, however, as they put Polish CS back on the map with a 2-0 victory they actually made look relatively comfortable.
As he has been since his arrival, hades was the star for 9INE. The AWPer had massive impact on both maps with the big green and recorded 43 kills as 9INE defeated Vitality 16-11 on both maps.
On the flipside, the two 0-2 matches would be played between Spirit and Astralis, and iNation and ENCE.
Starting with Spirit versus Astralis, the young Russian team got off to a strong start on map one. Winning Mirage 16-10, everything looked set for them to dump out the four-time Major winners with ease.
Unfortunately for them, up next was Astralis new home, Ancient. While the map was mainly characterised by Spirit's misfiring, the strength of the Danes on the map got them right back in the series with a swift 16-5.
Map three was also dominant from Astralis, who lead 12-3 at the half thanks to a stellar CT side from device. Spirit attempted to mount a comeback, but a post-plant 3k from the AWPer was enough to crush their dreams of playing in CS:GO's final Major.
Unlike the other 0-2 game, ENCE vs iNation wasn't much of a contest.
iNation picked Nuke as the first map, although they were quickly made to regret this as every member of ENCE went positive as they were destroyed 16-0.
They fought back valiantly on map two with DEPREHSN putting up strong numbers, but the continued onslaught of Nertz, Snappi and SunPayus proved to be too much for them to handle. iNation fell in map two 16-14 and ENCE will live to fight another day for Paris Major contention.
NIP suffered more disappointment as they were taken down by FORZE on day two. While FORZE are nothing to scoff at following their quarter-finals run at ESL Pro League Season 17, NIP would've been hoping to avoid the grudge match they now face against Astralis.
Cloud9 bounced back from their loss versus Monte with an overtime win against Eternal Fire on Vertigo, with the victory setting them up for a match against G2 for qualification on day three.
G2 reached that match by overcoming Aurora on Nuke 16-14, with the international squad quickly reminding people why they are so feared on the map.
The final 1-1 game of the day saw BIG take on 500 in a match that ending up being relatively one sided. Rainwaker and dennyslaw put in strong performances for the Bulgarian team, but they couldn't match k1to as the Germans won 16-8 on Anubis.
With day two full of excitement and day three set to be a banger, stick around on BLAST.tv to catch all the action!
