Battlefield has entered the Battle Royale genre with the release of RedSec, a direct competitor to CoD's Warzone. It places 100 players into the huge Fort Lyndon map to see who remains at the end of the match.
Players can choose one of the four classes from BF6's multiplayer, but which one should they opt for? Here is our Battlefield RedSec class tier list to help you answer that question.
We are ranking classes from worst to best, with some caveats. Squads will a full premade team will usually work best with one player in each class. This will allow for more versatility and to make better use of all systems available in RedSec (missions, vehicles, redeployments, etc).
Most players will either be playing with a duo or solo (be that in duos or squads), so that's who we have in mind when creating this tier list. The truth is, all classes are viable, so if you are a BF6 multiplayer veteran, stick to what you know and use those powerful custom weapons.
Image Via Electronic Arts. While Supports are excellent in Battlefield 6's multiplayer modes, their kits do not translate well into RedSec, even though they have been slightly changed. Supports excel at reviving players and supplying them with ammunition, but they don't do that better enough than the other classes to make them worth choosing.
Ammo is available in chests and as loose loot, and if you are really struggling, you can call Ammo drops if you find one. Situations in which you can revive players in the middle of a battle are rare, so the faster revive speed ends up being irrelevant in most cases.
LMGs are also underwhelming in RedSec since you will often end up exposing yourself to third parties if you keep spraying for too long, so you are usually better off with an Assault Rifle or Carbine.
Image Via Electronic Arts. While Engineers serve to fill a niche, they do so very well. Tanks, especially in the later stages of RedSec, are one of the most powerful tool available to players in both duos and squads. Engineers are the only class which can repair a tank, so they become almost essential if you are planning to take one into final circles.
They are the only class which can open those safes you'll have found throughout the map, so they'll net you some extra loot. While other classes can wield launchers and explosives found in the world or through anti-tank boxes, Engineers do so better than any other through their passives and their main gadget: the Aim-Guided launcher.
Lastly, having better hip-fire accuracy with SMGs makes them a close range menace, especially useful in a map which is filled with buildings.
Image Via Electronic Arts.Assaults excel in RedSec for a variety of reasons. Assault Rifles, their signature weapon, are the most versatile guns in the game. You can reliably run a double-assault riffle setup, one for close range and the other for longer range engagements.
Their main gadget is the Assault Ladder, which unlocks access to areas which other classes cannot reach. The grenade launcher is also excellent at dealing with enemies inside buildings or hiding behind cover.
If that's not enough to convince you, Assaults fill the Redeployment circle in those Respawn points quicker than any other class, and by a considerable margin.
Image Via Electronic Arts.Information is the best offense and defense in any battle royale, and this one is no exception. That's why Recon is the obvious choice to top out our Battlefield RedSec class tier list. Recons have access to two information-based gadget in the form of the Recon Drone and the Motion Sensor.
The Recon Drone can be used to scout areas ahead of your squad, allowing you a prime position in the circle in as safe a manner as possible. Drop the Motion Sensor as you leave to make sure your flank is secured, or drop it beneath you as you climb to a rooftop in order to reveal enemies who might be closing-in on you.
Besides the two strongest gadgets in RedSec, Recons excel with Sniper Rifles, one of the most powerful weapons in any battle royale. Recon players have less weapon sway and rechamber rounds quickly, so they will be the deadlier snipers in Fort Lyndon.
