Entity and Tundra Esports claim the two remaining spots for The International 2024 (TI13) through the Western European (WEU) regional qualifiers.
Entity secured the first spot for The International 2024 (TI13) in the upper bracket of the Western European (WEU) regional qualifiers. They faced PSG Quest in the first round of the upper bracket and defeated them with a 2:1 before proceeding to face OG in the next round.
A personal milestone kept OG captain Ceb from playing against Entity, allowing the latter to seize the opportunity and defeat them. Despite being handicapped, OG gave Entity a tough fight, however, they lost to a better team with the latter winning with a score of 2:1.
The final hurdle for Entity came against Tundra Esports, who had an absolute blast in the upper bracket, enjoying clean series wins one after the other against NAVI Junior and Team Secret, winning both their series with a 2:0 score.
Entity was on a roll as they made quick work of Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen, two-times TI champion, and his teammates in a full best-of-three series. The first two games were neck-to-neck with each Dota 2 team trading swift blows to one another and winning a game apiece.
However, Entity demolished the Tundra defence, gave little room for their offence to mount a comeback, and finished the game in 33 minutes to secure the first spot and qualify for The International 2024 (TI13).
It is noteworthy to highlight Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov incredible gameplay that played a major role in Entity securing the first invite to TI13 via the WEU regional qualifiers.
Tundra Esports is the second team to qualify for The International 2024 (TI13) from the lower bracket. The lower bracket has been a surprise with many notable teams like Nigma Galaxy, OG Esports, Team Secret and Mouz getting eliminated.
PSG Quest had an exceptional run after dropping to the lower bracket of the TI13 WEU Regional Qualifiers at the hands of Entity, defeating notable teams like Team Bald, Nigma Galaxy, Team Secret and NAVI Junior to set up a finals clash with Tundra Esports for the second spot for The International (TI 2024).
The lower bracket finals of the TI13 WEU regional qualifiers started with Tundra taking the lead in the first game.
However, Tundra opted for Oracle, Techies, Terrorblade, Dark Seer and Broodmother – an extremely greedy lineup in the second game – that didn’t do them any favours as PSG Quest swiftly mounted a comeback, tying the game 1:1 and moving on to the decider.
The series' final game was a lopsided affair with Tundra Esports drafting an aggressive lineup with the classic Topson Storm Spirit. Tundra was on the front foot from the start, leading on all fronts in gold, experience and kills, and secured barracks in two lanes by 38 minutes.
However, two minutes later, Topson secured a rampage in a decisive team fight on the top lane which saw Tundra punch their tickets to The International 2024 (TI13).
Tundra redeem themselves after getting another chance at redemption and qualify for TI13 alongside Entity Gaming.
