The new year begins with plenty of Dota 2 teams making changes to their roster in a bid to become the best in the scene. Let’s take a look at how teams, namely, Team Spirit, OG Esports, Parivision, WildCard Gaming and Mouz, to name a few, have made changes to their roster.
The dynamic duo have returned home. Yatoro and Collapse mark their return to the Dota 2 esports scene after being on a hiatus. Yatoro replaces the outgoing Satanic while Collapse takes his rightful place after being away from competitive play for a few months.
Team Spirit recruited Satanic after Yatoro decided to step away, albeit temporarily, from Dota 2 after TI2024, considering the organisation’s philosophy of nurturing young talent and giving them space to grow. While Satanic showed promise, Yatoro’s return meant that the former would be let go, given the latter’s accomplishments and long-storied history with the organisation.
Collapse replaces Malik, who stood in for Team Spirit until the former’s return. The grind has already seemingly begun considering Collapse has been spamming Magnus in pubs while Malik’s future remains uncertain.
Satanic’s departure from Team Spirit yielded results as the young player found himself in a new home at Parivision. Sadly, one man’s gain is another man’s loss and Crystallis is the unfortunate victim of the Dota 2 roster shuffle.
Crystallis has been benched from Parivision after being instrumental in winning ESL One Bangkok 2024, the last tournament of the calendar year. He has also been pivotal in helping shape the team, providing stability and consistency.
According to social media rumours, he received the short end of the stick and was benched from Parivision’s Dota 2 roster. He cited language barrier issues with the rest of the team, who primarily communicated in Russian.
BetBoom Team, OG Esports and Wildcard Gaming have also made changes to their Dota 2 roster. Kiyotaka is benched as Gpk returns to the team.
OG added xNova full-time after his trial period ended and Ceb will stand in for the team once again. They part ways with bzm (mid laner) and Khezu (coach). OG is currently without a mid-laner.
Meanwhile, Wildcard Gaming acquires the Dota 2 roster of Apex Genesis and brings back some life to the North American Dota 2 scene.
