With almost two weeks of exciting RMR action now concluded, we have the full list of the 24 teams who will compete for eternal glory at the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
Many teams experienced heartbreak, many teams experienced jubilation. With surprise around every corner, once again, the RMR will go down in history as a defining moment in CS:GO history.
As we gear up for the final CS:GO Major, here are the teams that will be battling it out to win that coveted final Major trophy.
NAVI
NAVI breezed through RMR A with victories over Into the Breach, Falcons, and FaZe. Into the Breach may have caused them more difficulty than expected, but the game against Falcons showed the level we expect from the Ukrainian team. The final game featured a coming of age performance from npl, who top fragged the series to send his team to Paris.
Fnatic
RMR A’s other 3-0 team was Fnatic. Similarly opening with a close game versus UK&I team Viperio, Fnatic followed that win up with a second victory against 1WIN. Their own 3-0 game was played against B8, a game which they won 2-1 after victories on Vertigo and Ancient.
Heroic
The first 3-0 team from RMR B is Denmark’s number one team, Heroic. With victories over 500, Aurora, and Monte, the team made their way to the Legends Stage with relative ease. Runners-up of the previous Major, they’ll now be looking to right those wrongs and go home with the trophy this time around.
9INE
Perhaps a surprise inclusion in the 3-0 list, 9INE made Poland proud as they translated their online form into LAN form to qualify straight to the Legends Stage. hades continued his impressive form since joining the team in Copenhagen, helping his team qualify with victories over G2, BIG, and Vitality.
Into the Breach
Another RMR surprise package, Into the Breach put UK CS on the map as they became the first and only team with a UK core to qualify for a Major in CS:GO. They didn’t let their opening loss phase them as cypher shone and the team followed up their defeat with three successive victories over Sprout, Virtus.pro, and B8.
Bad News Eagles
RMR A’s second 3-1 team was Bad News Eagles, who qualified for Paris with a victory over FaZe. Now set to play in their third Major in a row, the Kosovan team also had wins against Viperio and Apeks before booking their Legends spot with a playoff victory against GamerLegion.
Vitality
Featuring the only French players to have qualified for Paris, Vitality made their way to the Major with wins against Astralis, NIP, and BIG. Later playing in the third place decider bracket, they had 2-0 victories over G2 and Monte to book their place in the Legends Stage.
FURIA
The only team from the Americas RMR to be granted a spot in the Legends Stage, FURIA reasserted their title of Brazil’s number one team with a victory over paiN to earn themselves that spot. They also took down TeamOne, EG, and Liquid on their way to qualifying for Paris.
OG
Despite still playing with a stand-in IGL in the form of niko, OG battled back from an 0-2 position to qualify for the Major. Eliminating SAW, 1WIN, and Falcons in the process, OG will now feature at their second Major since entering Counter-Strike four years ago.
GamerLegion
Giantkillers at the previous RMR, GamerLegion will once again feature in a Major following victories against OG, 1WIN, and Falcons. Eliminated in the Challengers Stage at the IEM Rio Major, the team will be hoping to go at least one step further in Paris.
MOUZ
Semi-finalists in Rio, MOUZ’s young squad showed mature heads yet again as they qualified for Paris from a 2-2 position. Despite losses versus B8 and Falcons, the team defeated SAW before impressive BO3 wins against Virtus.pro and FaZe to book their place in the Challengers Stage.
Apeks
Qualifying for their first Major since entering CS:GO, Apek’s long-winded grind finally paid off as they also qualified for the Major from a 2-2 position. Losses against FaZe and Bad News Eagles may have given the team cause for concern, but victories over GamerLegion, Sprout and B8 were the three they needed to make the Major.
FORZE
Kicking on from a strong performance at ESL Pro League Season 17, FORZE were the final team from RMR A to qualify for Paris from the 2-2 bracket. Victories over ENCE, NIP, and Aurora were all Jerry’s prodigy filled team to make their way to the Major once more.
NIP
Despite recent struggles, NIP made sure to come alive at the right moment to guarantee their place in Paris. With their qualification run featuring a grudge match win against Astralis, they also required victories over BIG and Eternal Fire to qualify.
G2
The current number one ranked team in the world, G2 were looking to make up for their disappointing elimination from the RMR event for IEM Rio. They opened with a shock loss versus 9INE, but quick victories against iNation, Aurora, and Cloud9 saw them complete their redemption arc and qualify for the final Major of CS:GO.
ENCE
One of the best teams of the first half of last year, ENCE initially struggled to recover from the loss of their star, Spinx. Now featuring a new star in Nertz, the team battled back from 0-2 down to qualify with wins over iNation, 500, and Cloud9.
Monte
Another team with strong recent online form and featuring a sdy with a point to prove, Monte qualified for their first CS:GO Major in Copenhagen. Only losing against Heroic and then Vitality in the third place decider, Monte looked strong as they took down ENCE, Cloud9, and FORZE on their way to Paris contention.
Grayhound
The first of two teams to qualify from the APAC region, Oceania’s best team Grayhound booked their spot with wins against TYLOO, Eruption, and TheMongolz.
TheMongolz
Despite their loss against Grayhound, the former IHC team now appearing as TheMongolz qualified for their third Major in a row with victories against Twisted Minds and Rare Atom. The best team in Asia right now, the team will be looking to continue their streak of doing damage to European teams during their time in Paris.
paiN
Looking like a completely new team since biguzera took over the role of IGL, paiN converted strong Pro League form into Major qualification at the Americas RMR in Monterrey. With wins against Paqueta, Complexity, and Fluxo, the team continued to stake a claim to the title of Brazil’s second team with their performances at the RMR.
Complexity
The RMR for IEM Rio ended in heartbreak for Complexity as they suffered an overtime loss to Imperial in the final game. Heartbreak wasn’t on the cards for Complexity this time, however, as they took down Solid, Imperial, and MIBR to qualify for the Challengers Stage in Paris.
Liquid
NA’s number one team may have had their struggles of late, but they put that behind them as they secured their spot for the BLAST.tv Paris Major. They lost against FURIA, but wins 00NATION, Flamengo, and Nouns saw them earn the spot at the Major.
Fluxo
IEM Rio may have come too soon for the then-newly formed Fluxo, but they made sure to qualify for the Major this time around. Wins against yur, BESTIA, and Paqueta was all it took to seal the deal.
FaZe
What would a Major be without FaZe Clan? Winners of the PGL Antwerp Major last year, FaZe escaped missing out on Paris thanks to the Last Chance Qualifier. While they had previously gone 2-0 in the RMR A, subsequent losses to NAVI, BNE, and MOUZ saw them drop down to the LCQ. Needing to first take down Aurora to advance to the LCQ final, they later broke the hearts of Cloud9 to become the final team to qualify for the final Major of CS:GO.
