If you’ve done the math, maxing out your character in Witchspire does not allow you to unlock all Luminaries in your skill tree. Besides this, there is no respect currently available in Early Access, so you need to carefully choose your skills.
Here are the best builds in Witchspire, what skills to pick for each and common mistakes to avoid as you progress through the game.
We’re essentially dividing our builds into two separate options based on which weapon you choose. That choice will depend on your preference and isn’t necessarily influenced by your initial Coven choice. In Early Access, choosing your Coven only changes how you look and what gear you start with.
You will need to decide between Spellblade and Wand as early as possible, though. The main way to guarantee steady progression is to craft your own weapons, which requires you to invest precious Luminaries into specific skills.
The center line is mandatory, so we won’t include it in our builds. Here are the skill nodes you’ll need to invest into for the best Spellblade build in Witchspire:

Besides these choices, you should invest into the inventory size increase slots and into the mandatory upgrades like mining picks, gardening plot, etc. If you’re playing co-op, split these investments between your friends, there is no point in doubling up on them.
The wand almost perfectly mirrors the Spellblade build. You should also invest into Inventory size and go into building recipes, of course. Here is the best Wand build in Witchspire:

So what exactly is different? If you’re playing with Spellblade, you should be relying on ranged, damage-focused Familiars, like the Taileaf. You are the tank, or drain-tank, and your familiar helps increase your DPS.
But when you’re using the Wand, you want to keep your distance, so you should invest into a melee, tanky familiar like the Specra. This leads us to an investment into Lifesaver and familiar-focused skills. It also leads us into Ritual Tomes because we don’t need to invest into Sturdy points.
Both builds are extremely viable, but the Spellblade is definitely harder to play. It is difficult to see all the indicators of enemy attacks when you’re right on top of them, so we recommend sticking with the Wand if you want to have an easier time.
