Pandora’s Lunchbox is one of the weirdest items you can find in PEAK. The name makes it sound mysterious, and to be honest, that’s exactly how it works. You never really know what’s going to happen when you open it.
If you're new to the game or just trying to figure out if this item is worth keeping in your backpack, here’s everything you need to know about it.
Image via Aggro Crab, LandfallYou can find Pandora’s Lunchbox by opening Ancient Luggage. These are scattered all over the island, but there’s no guarantee you’ll find the lunchbox inside.
You might get something else, like the Faerie Lantern or Cursed Skull. It’s all random, so you’ll need a bit of luck.

Image via Aggro Crab, LandfallUsing Pandora’s Lunchbox is simple, but what it does is not. Once you open it, the first thing it does is clear all the negative effects from your character. That means poison, bleeding, debuffs, and even the Curse you get when you're revived. If you’re struggling with any of those, this item helps right away.
After that, things get a bit random. The game rolls a value in the background that acts like a budget for new effects. Based on that, your character gets a mix of new effects.
These can be good or bad. Usually, your status bar gets filled up by around 20 to 60 percent with these effects. On average, you’ll get two new ones, but it could be anywhere from zero to five. Each effect fills about 21 percent of the status bar.
So basically, you lose your current bad stuff and get a mix of new stuff that might help or hurt. It’s a gamble, but sometimes that gamble is worth it.
Image via Aggro Crab, LandfallThere’s no perfect time to use Pandora’s Lunchbox, but here’s a simple way to think about it. If your character is doing fine and your team is moving up the mountain without much trouble, it’s probably better not to take the risk. You don’t want to swap a good setup for random effects that might mess things up.
But if you’ve been revived and have the Curse effect, or you’re dealing with a bunch of negative statuses, then it’s worth using. It’s the only known item that removes the Curse, which can make a big difference in tough situations.

Image via Aggro Crab, LandfallIt depends on how much space you’ve got and how your run is going. Pandora’s Lunchbox takes up a slot, so if you’re low on room, you’ll need to choose carefully.
If you’re the kind of player who likes having a backup plan when things go bad, it’s a solid item to hold onto. If you don’t like surprises or are doing well without them, you might want to leave them behind.
