The Warhammer Skulls 2025 showcase had a few surprises, and one of them was the announcement of crossovers with Counter-Strike 2 and Rust. Both games are getting new content based on the Warhammer 40k universe.
Even though they’re very different games, the idea seems to be to keep things cosmetic and light without changing how the games play.

Players can expect base items, weapon skins, and gear that match the Krieg style. There’s also a DLC mentioned, called the Death Korps of Krieg Pack.
It’s expected to offer more cosmetics and possibly some exclusive items. It’s not clear yet if the Krieg shovel is included, but fans are definitely asking for it.
For Rust, this is the first time the game has worked with another franchise. The setting of Krieg fits with the survival and base-building vibe of Rust, and it gives players new ways to personalize their game

Players can use them to decorate their weapons, but there are no new modes or gameplay changes. It’s a quick way for fans of both games to bring a bit of 40k into CS2 without affecting balance.
The Skulls 2025 event didn’t reveal any big new triple-A Warhammer games, but there were still a lot of updates. New games like Dark Heresy, Boltgun 2, and Mechanicus 2 were announced. Remastered versions of Dawn of War and Space Marine were also revealed.
For players of games like Rogue Trader, Vermintide, and Darktide, there were plenty of patches and expansions. But among all the updates, these two crossovers stood out for how unexpected they were.
