Escape From Tarkov comes in many shapes and sizes, with multiple options that are quite different from each other. There will be an edition that fits you best, and we’re here to help with that.
Here are the available Tarkov editions, and all their purchase options, explained.
At the time of writing this, Escape From Tarkov hasn’t been fully released yet. We’ll update this article when it does, as the available editions are prone to change once that happens.
Image Via Battlestate Games. In its Early Access state, Escape From Tarkov comes in four editions:
Beyond everything mentioned above, the more expensive the edition, the more equipment players start with in their stash. There is also an edition we didn’t mention, because it isn’t actually for sale anymore. In case you already have it and want to compare it with the others, here is the Edge of Darkness edition:
As evidenced by the above lists, the most expensive editions go beyond Escape From Tarkov. We won’t go over those details, like the Arena edition included, because this piece is focused exclusively on EFT. With that in mind, what are the key differences to keep in mind when choosing an edition?
Image Via Battlestate Games. If you have the money to spend, there’s nothing better than the Unheard edition, of course. For most players, though, a 250€ asking price will be beyond unreasonable. So what is the best bang for your buck? Here’s what you should have in mind when choosing a Tarkov edition:
Excluding the aforementioned Unheard, we would recommend acquiring the Prepare For Escape Edition. At 115€, 135€ less than Unheard, this edition comes with a better Secure Container, a massive stash size boost, and increased standing with traders.
With that being said, do not buy such a pricey edition if you’re not sure the game will be for you. Thankfully, Battlestate Games allows players to upgrade from one Tarkov edition to the other. So you can start off with Standard, and upgrade to our recommended Prepare for Escape edition later on.
Image Via Battlestate Games.Beyond all the Tarkov Editions mentioned above, there are more EFT purchase options available for sale. Players can unlock premium outfits at the shop, which they can wear as a PMC on their raids.
It is important to note that these outifts are faction-locked, so do not purchase both USEC and BEAR outfits, focus only on the ones from the faction you play.
Additionally, players who have not purchased either the Edge of Darkness of Unheard Tarkov editions can unlock the co-op PVE separately for 20€.
To finalize, stash upgrades are also available. Players can purchase anywhere from 2 to 28 additional inventory lines, which means 20 to 280 extra cells. Upgrades start at 3€.
