The corrupted world of Kamelot is ruthless. Enemies are deadly and seemingly everywhere, often in groups ready to overwhelm you. When night comes, the atmosphere becomes genuinely terrifying and the already tough opposition gets even tougher.
If you’re struggling to get through the game or simply looking for a few pointers to get you started, we can help. Here are our Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon Tips and Tricks.

This means that they can be altered, just not infinitely so. A bit over 7 hours into the game, for example, we're sitting on 4 Origin Potions, which allow you to fully respect your character.
You'll likely need to experiment first to see the playstyle that better fits you, so we recommend committing fearlessly, you'll always have the option to respec later.

In Tainted Grail, though, that isn't necessary. The first few levels of upgrades only require two resources: Iron Ores and Sharpening Stones.
Both of them are widely available in act one, so you can take multiple weapons to at least level 7 with minor concerns. The biggest barrier you'll find is money, as cost exponentially increases each time you upgrade your weapon.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon can be ruthless, especially early on, and some encounters are truly difficult. With that being said though, money is key for getting stronger. It is the main resource you'll need to upgrade weapons and armor, which will have the biggest impact in how strong you are.
Leveling up Practicality as a skill boosts the money you get from selling items. On top of this, the Practicality skill tree beings by boosting the profit you get from sold items, up to 60%. Both combined will boost your early money farming so much that you'll be able upgrade much faster.

Everything with the exception of potions weighs something and, before you know it, you'll be constantly over-encumbered. This is an even bigger problem if you're not investing into Endurance as an attribute.
But there's a simple solution to this problem. Items in your Stash can be still interacted with in most scenarios. You can craft Items and Potions using resources from your Stash, and you can even sell items directly from it. The only real limitation the Stash has is that you cannot offer items in it to Shrines, so we would recommend that you always carry some animal parts with you.

When crafting an item, you'll have to manipulate the probabilities to avoid failing and crafting a piece of garbage.
These probability calculations are based on your Crafting skill and how hard the item is to craft. To avoid crafting garbage, simply use more of each resource and you'll see the "Chance for Worse" % decreasing. If you invest enough, the lowest outcome you can have is a Weak version of the item, preventing garbage as an outcome entirely.

New enemies will spawn, stronger than the ones you find during the day, hunting you around every corner. But that's not all that happens.
Normal enemies get much stronger at night. A common outlaw that you'd have easily defeated during the day actually poses danger at night. There is no benefit from engaging into this extra challenge unless you need Ethereal Cobwebs, which is dropped by every enemy defeated at night. Other than this, loot pools will remain the same, so if you don't need Cobwebs, use the night to rest.

Unlike most RPGs, side quests are not pre-marked on your map or minimap. Most of them are given by NPCs in what seem like random conversations.
So if you just want to get to the gameplay and want to ignore the dialogue, just skip it entirely and choose the yellow options when you get dialogue choices. You'll be amazed how many sidequests the devs have hidden in this manner.
Image via Awaken Realms. Screenshot Captured by Blast.tv.The sidequests that are not started by speaking with NPCs are often kicked off by reading a note or a book. Just like in the previous point, you can just press read and ignore all text to proc the sidequest, if you don't care about the lore. Recipes for potions and food also work the same way, simply press read and you'll learn them.
You don't need to carry books and notes around, but we recommend that you keep the recipes. Most of them are worth quite a bit of gold and are not consumed even after you've learned them. You can even purchase recipe books from traders, read them, and then sell them back to recover a bit of money.
