2024 was weird year for Playstation. It was objectively better than 2023 when it comes to Sony-published releases, but it also featured the massive flop that was Concord.
Still, last year Sony surprised the world with Helldivers 2 taking the industry by storm in February, with the entire gaming community at least knowing about the fierce battle for Democracy. It also ended 2024 strong with the excellent Astro Bot being crowned GOTY at The Game Awards.
The first State of Play of the year finally gave us a deeper look into what Sony has in store for us, and what could be the best games coming to Playstation in the next couple of years.

Despite not being an exclusive, not even a timed one anymore, Monster Hunter has felt at home on the Playstation since MH: World took the franchise to a completely new level, all this while being a timed console exclusive.
Wilds, the spiritual successful to World, is coming in February 28th and is expected to become the biggest and most successful release in the legendary Capcom franchise.

Capcom has been on a tear in recent years, and this does not seem like an exception. A lot of people have never played an Onimusha game before, especially with the latest entry in the series having been released more than a decade ago, in 2021.
The player will take control of Miyamoto Musashi, a skilled samurai in the Sengoku period. This latest trailer showed quite a lot of gameplay sequences, with flashy combat and visceral finishers. The comedic cutscenes were obviously a highlight.
We already have a feeling that this one is getting into our list of most anticipated games for 2026.
The incredibly faithful remake is one of those rare cases of a game looking better and better the more we see of it. Although this trailer is 90% cutscenes, we can't wait to get our hands on the first "new" Metal Gear Solid in a long time (no, we don't acknowledge the existence of MGS: Survive).

Hell is Us looks fantastic so far, and has gotten us intrigued. A mysterious world, bizarre character designs and great voice acting seem to be ideal ingredients to a great videogame. We'll know more when it releases on September 4, 2025.

Coming out of nowhere, chinese studio Eclipse Glow Games surprised us with Tides of Anihilation. This beautiful-looking title seems to be taking a lot of inspiration from Devil May Cry.
The visuals are stunning, and the setting is weird, but promising. The game seems to be fusing medieval fantasy with skyscrapers in what seem to be the remains of modern day London.
The players will take control of Gwendolyn, who is able to summon Knights of the Round Table to her aid against bosses that move way too quickly.

The protagonist, voiced and performed by the fantastic Rahul Kohli, appears to be in a death loop surrounding a Sun dying repeatedly. The game's cycle likely ends everytime the Sun is dying, and the player seems to be hunting a specific enemy.
We'll likely know more when the first gameplay footage comes out later this year. The game will release sometime during 2026.
