BSG has kept Kord Breach’s release date close to its chest, but its finally confirmed the perks that you will be choosing for your seasonal character.
Here are all Escape From Tarkov Season One modifiers, what they do, and how the system itself works.
Kord Breach Modifiers, Explained
Escape From Tarkov’s seasonal characters aren’t just a return to the wipes we knew from its alpha. Kord Breach, the first season, is adding modifiers, a sort of perks system.
They come in two major categories: Global and Personal. Global Modifiers are buffs and debuffs that impact all seasonal characters for the entirety of that season.
Personal Modifiers are further split into two types: Positive and Negative. Why would you choose Negative perks, though? Because when you create your character you need to have a Personal Modifier balance of 0.
Positive Modifiers lower the balance, and Negative ones raise it. You can choose to go in with just the Global Modifiers if you’d rather not choose any Personal Negative Modifiers at all.
All Season One Modifiers
We got the full list of modifiers via Nikita Buyanov himself on X. Just keep in mind that, while these are the confirmed perks, their specific values are subject to change before Kord Breach comes out.
Global Modifiers
- No Insurance.
- Less armor available from Traders.
- Black Division AI (only found on Icebreaker and Terminal in the main game) will be present in more locations.
- Item crafting time is 50% shorter and Crafting Skill starts at level 51 (item crafting time and cyclic production time reduced)
- Hideout items do not need to be Found in Raid.
- All seasonal characters get 25% more raid experience.
The lack of insurance and the shortage of armor available on traders paired with Hideout and crafting buffs means that gear crafting will have a major part in this first Tarkov season.
Personal Positive Modifiers
In order of cost:
- Street Tax (-1): Once per week, some Scavs pay you protection money.
- Diet (-1): All provisions consume 50% less resource (provisions are food and drink items).
- Juice Time (-2): Consuming a juice drink grants the Painkiller effect for 60 seconds.
- Hypodipsia (-2): Hydration is consumed 15% slower
- Sailor’s Nostalgia (-2): Consuming canned fish grants the Health Regeneration (+2) effect for 10 seconds.
- Sprinter (-2): Running speed is increased by 5%
- Polyphagia (-2): Energy is consumed 15% slower.
- Thrombophilia (-2): Bleeding chance is decreased by 25%.
- Marathon Runner (-3): Arm and leg stamina is consumed 15% slower.
- Hercules (-3): Strength and Endurance skills start at level 15.
- The Tarkov Shooter (-3): Bolt-action Rifles skill leveling speed is increased by 100% and stats at level 10.
- Youth (-3): Energy is consumed 20% slower and arm and leg stamina is increased by 10.
- Sturdy Bones (-3): Limb fracture chance is decreased and falling damage are decreased by 15%.
- Bush Borne (-5): Walking in vegetation generates 50% less noise and movement slowdown.
- Safecracker (-6): Mechanical keys (which excludes keycards) have a 20% chance to not lose durability when used.
- Average (-10): All character skills start at level 25 but cannot be increased further (excluding crafting).
- Kappa Protocol (-21): Immediately receive Secure container Kappa.
Personal Negative Modifiers
In order of cost:
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (+1): Energy is consumed 15% faster.
- Third Leg (+1): Movement speed is decreased by 1% but buying items at Therapist is 5% cheaper.
- Polydipsia (+1): Hydration is consumed 15% faster.
- Dr. Jekyll (+1): After gaining the Fresh Would status, it cannot be removed until the end of the raid.
- Hemophilia (+2): Bleeding chance is increased by 25%.
- Well That Hurt! (+2): All medkit uses consume 25% more resource.
- Personality Vacuum (+2): Charisma skill cannot be increased and all trader items cost 20% more.
- Allergic (+3): Become allergic to 2 random items from the Provisions or Medication category.
- Osteoporosis (+3): Limb fracture chance and falling damage are increased by 15%.
- Incompetent (+4): All character skills are leveled 25% slower (excluding Bolt-action rifles) and are capped at skill level 30 (excluding Crafting).
- Broken Secure Container (+4): Secure container is restricted to cash, keys, dogtags, special equipment, and certain containers.
- Exhaustion (+4): Arm and leg stamina recovers 15% slower and is reduced by 10.
- No Flea Market (+6)
