Dune Awakening Crossplay: Is It Available?
A little over a year after its original PC-exclusive release date, Dune: Awakening has finally arrived on consoles, namely PS5 and Xbox Series S and X.

The question is, can players from different platforms play with each other? In other words, does Dune Awakening support crossplay? Yes and no.
Does Dune: Awakening Support Full Crossplay?
Dune Awakening does not support full crossplay. What does this mean? It means that, as of right now, Funcom have not officially added crossplay support to Dune Awakening in time for its console release.
In response to a Eurogamer article on the matter, Funcom said that they want crossplay support as much as players, but that it is “technically and operationally complex to implement” it, so it was impossible to do in time for the massive September update.
So what exactly do we mean when we say it technically does support some crossplay?
“Crossplay” Is Currently Available Between PC And XBOX
With the console releases Dune: Awakening joined Xbox Game Pass. If you play Dune: Awakening on PC via the XBOX app you can actually play with friends playing on XBOX consoles.
This is made possible because all players are inside the XBOX ecosystem, so it is technically not crossplay, even if it works as such. Players on Steam are unable to play with those on XBOX consoles, and PS5 players can only play with others on the Playstation platform.
Crossplay Is Coming To Dune: Awakening
Funcom confirmed that Crossplay is coming post-launch. While they aren’t yet comfortable to share a release date, they promised to share more information when they’re ready.
