If you are trying to tame birds in Crimson Desert, the first thing to understand is that this system works very differently from other animals.
You are not chasing or interacting with them directly. The key item here is the Sotdae of Bond, which acts like a perch that attracts birds over time.

You cannot start taming birds without unlocking the Sotdae of Bond first. I reached this point during the Trembling Woods faction questline, specifically in the Authorized Access section near Pororin Village.
The process is a bit unusual because you actually need to get knocked out three times while trying to enter the restricted area. After that, you meet Arkin, complete his short quest, and he rewards you with the Sotdae of Bond.
If you have already done this part and cannot find it, check your camp storage or recovery menu since it can end up there.
Once you have the Sotdae of Bond, equip it like any other usable item. You need to place it in an open outdoor space.
From what I have seen, areas like cliffs, riversides, and wide fields work best because birds need clear space to land. If the area feels too tight or covered, birds simply will not show up.
After placing the perch, interact with it and add food. Different food types attract different birds, and I noticed clear patterns while experimenting. Grains and seeds usually bring in smaller birds.
Meat or insects tend to attract aggressive birds like crows or hawks. Fish or raw meat is what worked best for larger birds like eagles.
Now comes the part where most players mess up. After placing food, step away and stay still. If you move too much or stay too close, birds will not land at all. In my experience, giving some distance and just waiting quietly works every time. You will see birds circle and then land on the perch when they feel safe.
Once birds start feeding, a hidden trust system begins to build. The more they eat, the faster the trust increases.
If you use food they prefer, the process speeds up noticeably. When trust reaches 100, the bird is ready to be taken in.
At full trust, approach the bird slowly and interact with it. You will get the Take In option. Selecting this adds the bird to your pets. From there, it behaves like other companions in the game.
Location plays a big role in what kind of birds you get. Mountainous areas tend to spawn eagles and hawks. Rivers and lowlands usually bring in crows and smaller birds.
If you are not getting the bird you want, move the perch instead of changing food first. That approach worked better for me.
