With so many players trying out Zombies for the first time in Black Ops 6, there's quite a few features for them to wrap their heads around.
One of those features in augments, something that might confuse even the most experienced of Zombies players.
For that reason, in this article we'll tell you all about how to research and unlock augments, as well as the augments you should be using.
Although unlocking augments in Zombies can be a little time consuming, it is a very simple process.
To start unlocking augments, you first need to set a research task for whichever augment you desire. To do so, follow these steps:
From there, researching and unlocking augments on the perk, fire mod, or field upgrade you selected is as easy as just playing the game.
The only condition on successfully researching the desired augment is that you must have them active for the research to take place.
Therefore, if you are researching a perk or ammo mod, you must have that perk or ammo mod bought. Likewise, if you are researching for a field upgrade, you will need that field upgrade to be your active one.
Now you know how to get augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies, let's take you through the ten best augments to select.
Dying Wish is one of the best augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Typically, when taking enough damage to go down in Zombies, you will do so and lose all of your perks.
However, with Dying Wish active, your health bar will go down to 1hp and you will retain your perks as well as your self-revive kit if you have one.
The only catch is that you'll then need to go and buy Quick Revive again, and you will be able to do so three times before the Dying Wish activations run out.
Another one of the best augments for never dying in Black Ops 6 Zombies is Jugger-Nog's Reactive Armour.
Reactive Armour is basically a cheat code in Zombies, massively extending the amount of time it actually takes you to go down.
With Reactive Armour, when you get hit enough for an armour plate to break that armour plate will stun all the zombies around you, allowing you to make a quick getaway.
Reactive Armour might be one of the best augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies, but it becomes even better when paired with Hardened Plates.
Hardened Plates makes your armour plates do more damage mitigation, meaning that you will take a lot more hits to go down.
This can come in clutch when in tight spaces on maps like Terminus, especially when the Zombies all get stunned by a plate breaking thanks to Reactive Armour.
The final augment in Black Ops 6 that we think is best for preventing you from ever dying is Elemental Pop's Electric Cherry.
A re-imagining of a fan favourite perk from Black Ops 2's Mob of the Dead map, Electric Cherry acts exactly how fans of that map will expect it to.
When you reload your weapon, a static shock will hit an area around you, stunning enemies and dealing electric damage. The fewer the bullets you have left in your magazine, the more damage it does.
In all honesty, Melee Macchiato is one of the least important perks in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
However, if you're a high round player or just like using the Jet Gun on Liberty Falls, then it does have one of the best augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies and is definitely worth using.
That augment is Hidden Impact, which will add ammo back into your magazine every time you Melee someone. This is perfect for people trying to go for high rounds, as the Jet Guns ammo capacity can often leave you in sticky situations that can then be solved with one punch.
Moving away from perks for a moment, the next augment on our list of the best augments in Black Ops 6 is Persistence, which is available for the Healing Aura field upgrade.
Perfect for players who like playing with others - and especially others who aren't particularly good at the game - the Healing Aura allows you to revive players instantly from a distance.
With Persistence, those revived players will then also keep all the perks on their bleed-out bar, giving them a much better chance of keeping themselves in the game and not repeatedly downing as they try to get all their perks back.
How about an augment for an ammo mod? If that's what your after, then one of the augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies is Big Game, which is available for the Shadow Rift ammo mod.
Not only does Shadow Rift look cool, it's also really effective at dealing with hordes of zombies, however, it isn't so good at dealing with elite foes like the Abomination or the Amalgam.
With Big Game, Shadow Rift will activate on those enemies, dealing massive amounts of damage and taking them down far easier.
Moving back to the perks as we continue our list of the best augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies, we have Tribologist, which you can find on the PHD Flopper research line.
PHD Flopper is a load of fun, but with Tribologist it gets even more fun, as the augment increases both slide speed and slide distance.
Excellent for preventing you from getting trapped in a corner, Tribologist is also really useful for getting round the maps, as the maps in Black Ops 6 Zombies are quite big.
Tribologist isn't the only PHD Flopper augment worthy of a place on our list of the best in Black Ops 6 Zombies, Dr Ram is, too.
Dr Ram knocks down and damages base zombies whenever you're in tactical sprint. Like Tribologist, this can be excellent for getting you out of a sticky situation.
It's also a load of fun when you have an active Insta Kill, as you will just kill every zombie in your path.
One of the most useful augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies is Free Faller, which you can find on the Stamin' Up research line.
Free Faller allows you to take no fall damage, which might seem like it's somewhat irrelevant in Zombies, but seeing as there are some vertical elements on the maps, it does allow you to create easy shortcuts by just jumping.
You never know when you're going to accidentally take some fall damage and ruin you run, so trust us and use this one, it'll save you a load of hassle.
