The Dota 2 TI13 SEA qualifiers are just around the corner with teams vying for the last remaining spot for The International 2024 (TI 2024).
Here’s everything you need on the qualifiers: teams, schedule, location, format and more.
The road to The International 2024 (TI13) begins in Southeast Asia (SEA) on June 3rd, 2024. Aspiring Dota 2 teams can prove their mettle through a two-phase qualifier system. Uninvited teams battle through the Open Qualifiers for a chance to join the Closed Qualifiers, where 8 teams await.
Open Qualifier #1:
Open Qualifier #2:
Four teams from the Open Qualifiers will join the eight invited teams in the TI13 SEA Closed Qualifiers.
SEA Closed Qualifiers:
The TI13 SEA Closed Qualifiers will have twelve teams competing for the two spots for The International 2024 (TI 2024).
The region doesn’t have any teams directly invited to the crown jewel Dota 2 event because SEA teams have been struggling to make a decisive impact on the global scene.
Despite the huge player base in SEA, the infrastructure seems to be lacking, especially after Fnatic, BOOM Esports and a few other organizations decided to either change regions or quit altogether. However, all hope isn’t lost because SEA’s tendency to cause upsets at TI and other international tournaments is well-known.
The teams participating in the TI13 SEAn regional qualifiers are as follows:
The SEA region looks stacked especially because no team has directly qualified for The International 2024 (TI13).
However, that can prove to be a major loss since there would have been a total of three teams, had one team been invited, at TI 2024.
Aurora is the favourite to secure the first spot for TI13. They have been flawless and are carrying the entire weight of the SEA region on their shoulders, performing admirably well at international Dota 2 tournaments.
Skillwise, no other team comes close to Aurora and they are well-positioned to qualify.
The second spot for TI13 is going to be a blood bath with teams like Blacklist, Talon, Bleed and others in the mix.
Each team has the necessary international experience and the fortitude to qualify, but at the end of the day, only one Dota 2 team will make the cut.
Blacklist looks more poised to secure the second spot with the all-Filippino mix looking in great form, especially after qualifying for The Riyadh Masters 2024.
However, the open qualifiers are another beast in the waiting with TNC making a comeback. They also might surprise you, but you never know until the throne falls.
Details on the format and exact schedule for TI13 SEA qualifiers still need to be revealed. Although the schedule will be available once the open qualifiers are over, the format is likely similar to past TI qualifiers.
The format is likely to be the following:
The qualifiers will be streamed on multiple streaming platforms and in different languages. The links can be found below:
TI 2024 SEA Qualifiers are going to be the most exciting of the lot, second only to TI13 West Europe Qualifiers, with stacked teams performing to their limits to qualify for The International 2024 with only two spots on the line.
