Illya "Raddan" Mulyarchuk (formerly Yatoro) and Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov have stepped away from competitive Dota 2 following the conclusion of The International 2024 (TI13). Their decision to take a break from playing professionally leaves Team Spirit down to three players.
Raddan and Mira have decided to step away from playing Dota 2 professionally. According to Team Spirit’s post on X (formerly Twitter), four years of an intense schedule filled with training, games and travelling to top-tier tournaments around the world has led to this decision.
This move comes after Team Spirit’s unsuccessful campaign at The International 2024 (TI13) where the reigning champions failed to defend their title – losing to Xtreme Gaming in the lower bracket and ending up in 9th-12th place.
Both players have been instrumental in Team Spirit’s victory at The International 2021 and 2023, catapulting the Eastern European esports organization to instant fame and prominence, cementing their legacy in the history of Dota 2.
The post also highlights both the players’ immense contributions towards the game and heralds them for setting a benchmark for hundreds and thousands of aspiring players and fans around the world.
Raddan and Mira’s decision to step away from competitive Dota 2 has left Team Spirit in a precarious position. The team now finds itself with only three players in the wake of the post-TI 2024 roster shuffle. While it remains unclear whether this break is temporary or permanent, the void left by these legendary players will undoubtedly be a significant challenge for Team Spirit to overcome.
It’ll be interesting to gauge how Team Spirit tackles this situation as they look forward to the new season. Stay tuned to BLAST for the latest coverage on the post-TI 2024 roster shuffle.
