Patch 7.37e has been live for more than a week. While the update introduced only minor nerfs to items and some heroes, it has had a significant impact on the meta.
During this time, we’ve seen players sticking to the old strategies, dismantling them, and shaping entirely new ones, and at times even trying to curate a new meta altogether.
Some heroes from the previous meta remain relevant, but players are increasingly discovering new picks to counter them—and with surprising success.

Thus, without further ado, let's look at which heroes are trending in the Patch 7.37e meta.
Dragon Knight has been a dominant meta pick for quite some time in Dota 2, thanks to the patches making him a popular pick. His Fire Dragon form grants him unparalleled advantages in virtually every core role.
While DK has remained largely uncontested, Patch 7.37e has brought forth innovative ways to counter his dominance.
One of the most intriguing developments has been the resurgence of a long-overlooked hero: Bloodseeker.
Once sidelined due to difficulty finding a fitting playstyle, Bloodseeker has made a remarkable comeback.
Interestingly, this hero did not receive any direct buffs or nerfs in the patch. Instead, players have started recognising his potential, particularly through a new itemisation approach focused on magic damage.
This shift in build prioritisation has positioned Bloodseeker as an effective answer to many of the current meta heroes. Notably, Bloodseeker’s ability to come online early makes him highly appealing.
In skirmishes, he can use his ultimate, Rupture, to control Dragon Knight effectively—forcing him to make a tough choice: Teleport and let his team suffer or remain stationary, a situation that heavily disadvantages DK.
Combined with his newfound magic damage build, he poses a serious threat to DK, giving players a much-needed tool to challenge the meta king.
This discovery has significantly impacted Bloodseeker’s popularity and performance in patch 7.37e. His pick rate has surged, alongside an impressive win rate of 52.73%.
Another hero rapidly rising to meta prominence is Alchemist. In the past, players struggled to find a suitable role for him in their drafts.
However, Alchemist is now gaining favour among safelaners, thanks to his facet, Seed Money. This skill provides bonus gold at the start of the match, offering an early economic edge.
This initial gold boost allows players to invest more heavily in starting items, significantly enhancing their laning stage.
A stronger early game, in turn, helps players hit their critical item timings much faster, enabling them to come online faster than anticipated.
Currently, Alchemist boasts a 50.33% win rate in public matches in patch 7.37e, reflecting his growing impact on the meta.
Drow Ranger is another hero making a significant impact in the safelane meta. It has been a while since we’ve seen Drow dominate in public games, largely due to her vulnerabilities.
Drow’s damage output has always been impressive, thanks to her third ability, Multishot.
However, this skill was also her biggest weakness, as she couldn’t move while using it. This immobility often left her out of position and vulnerable in skirmishes.
Now, with the introduction of the Sidestep facet, Drow can move and use items while casting Multishot, giving her a significant advantage.
This improvement not only makes her more effective in combat but also enhances her farming potential.
Notably, Yatoro utilised Drow Ranger to reach an incredible milestone as the first player to achieve 16K MMR. The hero currently holds a respectable 51.08% win rate, showcasing her resurgence in the meta.
The last time Magnus truly shone on the big stage was during The International 2021 when Collapse delivered a masterclass performance on the hero.
Since then, Magnus has steadily gained popularity, prompting several nerfs along the way.
Despite this, Magnus is again emerging as a meta-pick in the current patch.
His ability to reposition opponents remains an invaluable asset, making him highly sought after by players looking to dictate the flow of skirmishes.
Players are beginning to use Magnus as a versatile flex pick, capable of filling either a core or support role.
As a core, Magnus is often played as a midlaner or offlaner. However, it’s his role as roaming support that is gaining the most traction and popularity in the current meta.
Since he is a roaming support, it makes the opposing midlaner think twice during laning or taking a rune fight because they could get Skwered under the tower.
As the game progresses, Mag just needs a Blink Dagger to have a game-changing impact in skirmishes. He currently has a 52% win rate in 1912 matches as a support in this meta.
Lina has received several buffs in recent patches, yet players largely overlooked her until now.
In Patch 7.37e, as players began exploring more midlane options, they rediscovered Lina’s potential.
With a magic damage itemisation build, Lina can instantly burst down any hero starting from the midgame, making her a formidable presence on the map.
Additionally, this build enhances her mobility, allowing Lina to escape dangerous situations with ease.
Combined with her strength as a laner—an essential trait for any midlaner—Lina quickly rose to prominence.
Her versatility further solidifies her appeal, as she can flexibly transition between the safelane and the midlane. Currently, Lina has a 50% win rate in 11182 matches as a midlaner.
The aforementioned heroes have been instrumental in reshaping the meta in Patch 7.37e. As players continue to adapt, the meta evolves in dynamic and exciting ways.
The next patch is expected to drop either after the ongoing ESL One Bangkok 2024 or following the conclusion of the final act of Crownfall.
