Malta will crown a new champion as HEROIC pulls off the unthinkable, ending Tundra’s reign and knocking them out of BLAST SLAM VI. This also marks the first time Tundra have failed to reach the Slam semi-finals.
In one of the most glaring upsets in Slam history, HEROIC has defeated Tundra Esports in straight games, rendering the latter helpless as the South Americans decimate the reigning champions. HEROIC ticked off all the boxes, especially with a dominating performance from TaiLung,
The young Peruvian played exceptionally well in both games, dying just once and wreaking havoc through Tundra’s ranks. He outplayed Tundra at every turn, particularly in the second game on Puck, leaving no stone unturned and giving them no chance to mount a comeback.
He was definitely the star player of the series, and with his teammates’ help, he truly showed his potential on the SLAM stage. HEROIC ended Tundra’s hopes of defending their crown and deservedly booked their spot in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Team Liquid defeated North America’s last hope, GamerLegion, in a swift and decisive series. GamerLegion couldn’t withstand Liquid’s relentless attacks and lost the series in straight games, ending their journey at BLAST SLAM VI: Malta.
