After months of anticipation, Valve has finally released the Ringmaster, the newest hero to join the Dota 2 universe. With its unique abilities and playstyle, the Ringmaster adds a fresh and exciting dimension to the popular esports game.
Dota 2 Ringmaster: Everything you need to know
Here’s how the Ringmaster is classified in Dota 2:
- Intelligence Hero
- Ranged Support
- Disabler
- Escape
As a newly released ranged support hero, The Ringmaster offers a combination of disabling and escape abilities. While it may take some time before we see him in competitive play, expect to encounter The Ringmaster frequently in pub games.
Ringmaster Abilities
Dota 2's latest hero Ringmaster has the following abilities:
Tame the Beasts:
- Channelled
- Ringmaster twirls his whip for up to 1 second then cracks it. Whipped enemies are damaged and flee in fear from Ringmaster. Channel time exponentially increases damage and extends the fear duration, but reduces the radius
- Ability: Point Target
- Doesn’t pierce spell immunity
- Magical damage
- It’s dispellable
Additional details can be seen in the image below:
Escape Act:
- Ringmaster packs himself or an allied hero into a mobile, extradimensional box. Boxed units gain phased movement, slow resistance, bonus magic resistance, and bonus movement speed. They are also untargetable, muted, silenced, and disarmed. The box will pop open after the effect expires or it moves more than 500 units away
- Ability: Unit Target
- Doesn’t pierce spell immunity
- Affects allied heroes
Additional details can be seen in the image below:
Impalement Arts:
- The Ringmaster throws one of his daggers to a precise point of his choosing. If he strikes an enemy, the dagger deals impact damage, briefly slows the unit hit, and causes them to bleed. The bleeding deals a percentage of the victim's maximum health in damage every second to heroes and flat damage per second to creeps
- Ability: Point Target
- Doesn’t pierce spell immunity
- Magical damage
- It’s dispellable
Additional details can be seen in the image below:
Wheel of Wonder:
- Ringmaster rolls the Wheel of Wonder to the targeted location, knocking aside enemies along the way. After it reaches its target, enemies in range of the wheel take damage over time and are slowed by -50%
- Enemy heroes who face the wheel for more than 0.5 seconds are mesmerized and drawn towards it. The first enemy to be mesmerized triggers a timer for the wheel to explode. If the timer is not triggered, it will automatically explode after 8 seconds
- Ability: Point Target
- Doesn’t pierce spell immunity
- Magical damage
- It cannot be dispelled
Additional details can be seen in the image below:
Aghanim’s Shard ability: Spotlight
By purchasing the Aghanim’s Shard, Dota 2 heroes get an extra ability and the Ringmaster is no exception.
- Upgradable by Aghanim’s Shard
- Ringmaster shines a spotlight that sweeps over an area. Enemies in the light have a chance to miss their attacks and are revealed if invisible
- Illusions hit by the beam fade away, losing a percentage of their maximum health each second
- Ability: Point Target
- Doesn’t pierce spell immunity
- Magical damage
- It cannot be dispelled
Additional details can be seen in the image below:
Ringmaster Facets and Innates
Facet: Center Stage
Ringmaster does not have a working Facet since he is still new to the spotlight. The facet doesn’t do anything yet and will be developed as time progresses.
Sorry, TI fans!
Innate ability: Dark Carnival Baker
Ringmaster’s Innate ability Dark Carnival Baker adds an exciting dimension to the game. He earns a random single-use mini-ability in his spell kit with every hero that dies near him. In case he doesn't have a Souvenir upon respawning then he will be granted one.
There are three Dark Carnival Souvenirs in total:
- Funhouse Mirror: Creates 1 imperfect image of your hero that lasts 18 seconds. Your illusion deals 28% and takes 300% damage
- Strongman Tonic: Temporarily increases an allied hero's Strength by 5 plus 1.5 per Ringmaster's level for 8 seconds. The effect holds for 4 seconds and then deteriorates over the duration
- Whoopee Cushion: Propels your hero forward 400 units. Leaves a 200-radius stink cloud behind for 3 seconds that slows enemies by -30%
Ringmaster Talent Tree
Ringmaster’s Talent Tree has the following options at different hero levels to choose from:
- Level 10: +200 Escape Act Cast Range OR +75 Tame the Beasts radius
- Level 15: Debuff immunity while channelling Tame the Beasts OR Impalement Arts penetrates one target
- Level 20: +75/+300 Tame the Beasts Minimum/Maximum damage OR +1s Impalement Arts bleed and slow duration
- Level 25: Escape Act grants strong dispel and flying OR +100 Wheel radius and range
Ringmaster Overview
Ringmaster looks fun and exciting and appears to be one of the easier heroes to play. Let's enjoy the fun while it lasts or before Valve decides to nerf or buff the Dota 2 hero.
