Dota 2 is known for its in-game complexity. However, every year, Valve introduces an in-game event that makes the game more approachable to newcomers and brings joy to veteran players.
These limited-time events feature impressive prizes and are best experienced when shared with friends.

This year, Valve released the much-anticipated Arcanas for Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage as part of the limited-time in-game event, Crownfall.
The event includes four acts, each unlocking over time.
In July, Valve released the third act of Crownfall, The Frosts of Icewrack. Now, there's only one act of this in-game event remaining – The Spires of Skywrath.
Recently, a data miner revealed on Reddit that Valve pushed back the release date for the final act, i.e., Crownfall Act IV.
Valve has been hinting at the Crownfall update for several years now, building anticipation among players. This year, they finally unveiled what it’s all about.
The lore of Crownfall centres around two main characters: Shendelzare (known as Vengeful Spirit) and Dragonus (known as Skywrath Mage).
Most players are familiar with the backstory of these two in-game characters, and in Crownfall, Valve delves deep into their lore, exploring it to its full potential.
In brief, Shendelzare was the rightful queen of her kingdom, The Eyrie. However, her sister, Imperia, staged a successful coup.

They tore Shendelzare’s wings from her body and cast her down from the highest point of The Eyrie, leaving her for dead. However, fate intervened.
As she lay on the brink of death, her god Scree'Auk transformed Shendelzare into the Vengeful Spirit, waiting for the right moment to avenge her betrayal.

Now, after a decade of waiting, Shendelzare’s chance is finally within her grasp, with the help of her lover, Dragonus, and their god, Scree'Auk.
The four acts of Crownfall take players through different terrains, joining Shendelzare and Dragonus on their journey to reclaim her throne. Along the way, they meet reliable allies, whose help will be crucial for the story's climax.
Crownfall is a Cavern-Crawl-like event, which features some immersive storytelling.
To top it off the event allows players to obtain several exclusive skins and rare items without costing a single dime from their pockets, bringing them a lot of joy.
There's an option which will cost them too and it also features additional bonuses as well.

The event features MMR double-down tokens as prizes and in bundles. When players use these tokens, they can earn twice the usual MMR when they win matches. However, if they lose, they will also lose twice the usual amount of MMR.
The long-awaited hero, Ringmaster also joined the game with the release of Crownfall's Cache Treasure II.
Valve also features some addicting mini-games in each act gaining the attention of players even more.
With an event featuring new heroes, highly anticipated skins, and cherished in-game content, it was no surprise that Crownfall achieved tremendous success in Dota 2.
It even attracted nearly 300,000 players back to the game.
The initial Crownfall update was released in April. A month later, in May, Valve launched the next chapter, The Deserts of Druud.
While the first two chapters of the Crownfall update were released back-to-back, the same cannot be said for the third act. Valve released the third act in July, taking three months between it and the second act.

As we reached the third act of Crownfall, many experts predicted that the final act would be released in November.
While this prediction was accurate at first, Valve recently moved the release date of Crownfall Act IV: The Spires of Skywrath to December 1st, as revealed by a data miner through in-game source code.
At The International 2024, Valve announced a new hero, Kez would be joining the game when the final act of Crownfall, i.e., Crownfall Act IV, comes out.

Kez is one of the leaders of The Kazurai and his lore heavily interacts with the Crownfall. However, his arrival is not the only thing that impacted the release date of the Crownfall Act IV: The Spires of Skywrath.
Another factor that could have impacted the release date of the Crownfall Act IV is the possibility of a new Dota 2 patch.
It's been more than a year since we've gotten an overall patch update, i.e. The New Frontier patch, which completely changed the game.
It's been around six months since Innates and Facets were introduced in Dota 2. In addition to that, the post-TI patch update did not have a significant impact on the meta. Thus, a new meta is long overdue.
Whatever the reason for the delay may be, leaks suggest that Crownfall Act IV: The Spires of Skywrath will be released on December 1st.
Hopefully, this new act will bring new treasures, prizes, and rewards, but only time will tell.
