As has been the case for most of the Perfect World Shanghai Major, the playoff games take place at ungodly hours.
That said, you needn't worry about not being able to watch them, we've got you covered just as we have all Major long and have put together a nice little recap of today's games.
The first quarter-finals saw MOUZ take on The MongolZ and Spirit vs Liquid, so let's take a look at how advanced and how they did so.
The MongolZ have captured hearts this year with the meteoric rise up the CS rankings, and anyone they hadn't yet converted is now converted off the back off their performances in China.
Sadly, today is the day those performances came to an end, they were knocked out of the competition by a young MOUZ squad with a 2-0 scoreline.
A close series, the first map, Ancient, needed an overtime in order to find a victor.
Eventually won 16-14 by MOUZ, Brollan was key to their success. The Swede has had an exceptional year since joining from NIP, and he fired MOUZ into a series advantage with a 1.34 rated, 26-20 game.
However, those 26 kills didn't make him the top-fragger. Both mzinho and Techno ended th egame on 28 kills, and mzinho's frags also made him the highest-rated player with a 1.42 rating.
In regulation, neither of the two halves were close. Both teams delivered nine T side rounds, with MOUZ heavily having to adapt their gameplan to match The MongolZ and their aggression.
Although regulation may have been T sided, the script changed in overtime. The MongolZ took an early advantage with two CT side rounds, but MOUZ ended up securing the map after a clean sweep when the teams swapped sides.
The second map, Nuke, ended 13-9 in favour of the European side.
Jimpphat was in incredible form, his 21-16 statline left him with a 1.52 rating, far higher than his closest teammate, torzsi, who ended on a 1.19.
As is usually the case on Nuke, the game came down to which team had the strongest CT side. The MongolZ looked decent as they took a 7-5 lead into the break, but a dominant CT side from MOUZ saw them pick up eight rounds, ending the Mongolian team's historic Major run in it's tracks.
The second game of the day saw chopper's Spirit take on Twistzz's Liquid.
As has become expected of a Spirit match, it was defined by donk, who put up an incredible 47-25, 1.63 rated series to give Spirit a 2-0 win.
Map one was fought on Anubis. It started well for Spirit as they picked up an important CT pistol round win, but they were pinned back immediately as Liquid responded with a run of three rounds.
The half ended 6-6, with Spirit being the happier of the two teams going into the break. Both donk and zont1x impressed, they picked up 21 kills combined to give Spirit a favourable scoreline going into the second half.
The second half is where donk took over, he went 13-5 in the half as Spirit put their foot on the gas, winning seven T side rounds to close out the map 13-9.
The second map, Dust2, was even closer, ending 13-11.
Spirit started on the T side this time, winning the opening pistol round again and converting to give themselves a 3-0 head start. However, Liquid battled back, and Spirit were restriced to just a 7-5 lead at half time.
Liquid then pulled the game even closer as the second half began with a pistol round win, but Spirit responded instantly with a five round winning streak.
However, Twistzz wasn't going to go down without a fight. Liquid's captain pulled off a strong 13-6 T half to push the game to 12-11 in favour of Spirit.
Sadly for Liquid, it was there that their steam ran out, and they fell 13-11 with donk again topping the scoreboard with a 23-12 statline.
