NAVI had to bounce back from a map down in their semi-final against FaZe, something they did in style as they dominated map three with a 13-2 scoreline.
Despite this, their players are saying that they aren't at their best, something that jL reiterated to us when we spoke to him ahead of today's final against G2.
That series went the full distance, how are you feeling after that?
Feeling great, it was a long series and it's also been a long series of tournaments for us, we haven't had a day off in the last couple of weeks which I think is starting to show but our mental resilience is at a high right now. We're relying on it and it's working out fine, even though we're not playing the best CS, we're stepping up to the plate and still delivering.
You mentioned resilience there, how do you as a team have such strong resilience?
We're not that young in terms of our players, but we're still young and we grind FACEIT a lot, so it's just another day in the office to be honest. You have to scratch the fatigue and stress and just focus on the game.
The game finished quite late, do you think playing for fun in the evenings helps prepare you for things like this?
100%, of course, the pressure and the amount of energy you use is a lot different, but, it's nice to have the experience of playing 20 times a day and late at night.
You'll play G2 in the final, another potentially long one, how will you prepare as a team going into it?
Sleep is number one. We've broken our BO5 curse, and although we've never beaten G2 in a BO5 before, we will treat them as a strong opponent and we won't give them a chance to breathe. We'll be at full force and whatever we bring to the table, we bring.
Another trophy tomorrow?
We'll see.
