BLAST Open Lisbon day three saw the first teams eliminated from the event, as well as the first teams advancing to the playoffs.
Another banger day of Counter-Strike, let's go over the action.
The Huns were a late addition to BLAST Open Lisbon, and their time at the event was cut short as they were knocked out of the competition by Falcons.
The game ended 2-0, with Falcons edging out an overtime on Inferno and closing the series after winning Inferno comfortably.
Inferno was equal throughout regulation, both teams registered 7-5 scorelines on their T half. While NiKo and nin9 topped the scoreboard on 28 kills apiece, it was the combined 48 from degster and kyxsan that pushed Falcons over the finish line.
Map two was far easier for Falcons, NiKo again shared the top-frag duties, however, this time it was with his teammate. The Bosnian and TeSeS both ended the map on 18 kills, keeping Falcons in the tournament and sending The Huns packing.
FaZe may have lost their opening game in embarrassing fashion, but they returned in emphatic fashion to throw Astralis out of BLAST Open Lisbon.
A decisive 2-0 victory, Astralis were barely a competitor as FaZe ran away with Train and Nuke 13-7, 13-6.
A map which has so far been T sided since it's return to the pool, FaZe dominated on the CT side of Train. broky registered 18 kills in the first half, helping his team to an 11-1 lead at the break.
Nuk was also strong for broky, the Latvian ended the map with a 16-8 statline. However, it was EliGE who topped the scoreboard, his 18 kills confirmed Astralis' last place exit.
donk may have been by far the highest fragging player in the third match of the day, but that still wasn't enough for Spirit to get revenge on MOUZ after their game at ESL Pro League Season 21.
Another close game between the two teams, MOUZ were again the victors, winning the series 2-1 after initially going a map down.
Spirit opened the series with a dominant 13-3 win on Dust2. donk fried in the opening game, top-fragging with a 17-11 statline, but it was sh1ro who topped the scoreboard as his 1.80 rating eclipsed donk's 1.75.
MOUZ then fought back on Nuke, pushing us to a third after Spinx's 23 kills sealed the map 16-13 in favour of the German organisation.
The third map, Ancient, was an all-timer. A 25-22 victory in favour of MOUZ, xertioN and torzsi came up clutch time and time again, closing out the series with a combined 85 kills to send MOUZ through to the playoffs.
Vitality are currently the most in-form team in the world and it isn't hard to see why considering how easily they dispatched Virtus.pro.
Our fourth game of the day was a quick 2-0 victory, the French organisation limited VP to just 11 rounds as they won Anubis and Inferno 13-6, 13-5.
The series opened on Anubis, with Virtus.pro picking up a competitive five rounds on their CT side. However, their T side fell flat, and ZywoO's 19 kills ending up being enough for Vitality to secure the advantage within the series.
Vitality began Inferno on the T side yet again, and once again they went into halftime with the lead. This time 8-4, it left Virtus.pro with a mountain to climb, and they won just one more round as ZywOo continued his rampage to confirm Vitality's place in Lisbon.
