BLAST.tv is set for esports broadcasting history with the Austin Major, which will be the first-ever esports event to feature YouTube’s multiview feature, a major leap forward in how fans experience live esports.
Multiview, YouTube’s proprietary broadcasting technology famously used for NFL games and Coachella music festival, allows viewers to watch multiple live feeds simultaneously, through split screen. Multiview will bring the BLAST.tv Austin Major to life in a dynamic new way for fans watching YouTube on their TVs and console devices, covering every stage from the Contenders to the Legends.
BLAST continues to redefine esports broadcasting. Following the 2023 Paris Major, which marked a first-of-its-kind partnership with TikTok for a live esports stream, helping to set a BLAST record with 1.5 million peak viewers, the Austin Major is poised to go even bigger. By integrating multiview, BLAST enhances the experience for Counter-Strike fans around the world, raising the bar for live event coverage.
Faye Malborough, Growth Director at BLAST said
“The BLAST.tv Austin Major is set to be one of our biggest events of the year, and it just got even more exciting with YouTube multiview. We’re thrilled to break new ground in esports broadcasting, using technology that’s already elevating the experience for fans of traditional sports and live music.”
This will be BLAST’s second Counter-Strike Major, bringing together 32 of the world’s best teams for three weeks of elite competition, all battling for a $1.25 million prize pool and a place in esports history.
The event will culminate at the state-of-the-art Moody Center in Downtown Austin, where tens of thousands of fans will witness four days of high-stakes arena action and the crowning of the next Major Champions.
