It's semi-finals day in BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 and that means that by the end of the day, we'll know the final two teams who will be competing at BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 in London.
The first of those two teams, SAW, has just beaten a HeavyGod-less OG, so let's go over how they did it.
Heading into Spring Showdown few would have expected these two teams to be competing for a place at Spring Final but with both teams in form, we knew this would be a banger.
SAW dominated on their CT side as they built up a 9-3 lead, closing it out as they shut down this fast play from OG in Mid.
They then got off to a strong start on the T side as arrozdoce cleaned up on the A site on the pistol round.
arrozdoce was strong throughout map one as he ended it with 14 kills, but it was story and ewjerkz on 19 and 20 respectively that really secured the map for the Portuguese team.
Overpass started with a bang and again it was arrozdoce who came up big to cut through OG's defence.
We don't think regali was too happy about it though...
It wasn't long after that round that things got weird, especially as F1KU clutched a 1v2 despite completely missing the second SAW player on his screen.
That wasn't the only time F1KU failed to react to someone on his screen either, but fortunately, k1to was there to bail him out the second time it happened.
SAW were the first to make it to match point, but OG captain k1to clutched up yet again to keep his team's hopes alive.
Sadly for OG, that was where their heroics came to a halt. SAW swept OT to end the game with a 16-12 score and secure their place at Spring Final.
