Despite losing to Vitality 2-1 yesterday, Complexity continued to look strong in defeat.
Having bounced back from a 13-2 scoreline on Anubis, they took Nuke from the reigning Major champions before falling on Inferno.
The result was representative of a newfound strength and resilience for the team, and after the game, Banks caught up with their IGL JT to discuss this new strength to Complexity.
The result is not what you wanted, but you're still in the tournament and we'll get to see you come back and fight tomorrow. I wanna start by just looking at the old Complexity.
I know if they'd lost 13-2 on an opening map, there wasn't much fight in you, there wasn't much comeback in it but seeing you guys on Nuke, I don't see these problems of old anymore. How does it feel for you?
Obviously, it feels good. The team is a lot more confident now. So like just going on the back of a really hard loss, like we're still able to win a win the next map which we've been struggling on.
I think the team in general, we're confident on all the maps. We're confident in our abilities just we know that sometimes we mess up the little things and I mean, like we, we're this close to being a top three team or something like that.
So I think yeah, I'm happy at least.
I love that, you said 'this close to being a top-three team', I never used to get these words out of you, so there's real belief right now, there's real confidence?
Yeah, the whole team thinks we can win this tournament if we play our best. We want to show that and obviously, it's not gonna be easy. We know that we make some little mistakes that we know the issues with and we can fix them really quickly. It's just about doing it in the matches.
So I think if we play our best, it can go pretty well here.
Now, talk to me about the issues on Inferno though, because this was a map where I feel like especially CT side positions that Vitality have right now, this is something that you could have benefited from with mezii's first time playing in Pit and having to work this.
Did you kind of understand what to expect from them here? And, and why were you not able to get a better result?
I think we had a good idea of what they wanted to do on the CT side. And I felt that we made a lot of the right calls, but we were messing up just the little things like we were messing up the little micros that each player has to do.
That's just kind of like what Inferno is like.
I think Inferno is very basic but there's a lot of like, nuance to what each player needs to do, and I think it's kind of like out of my hands or, I mean, we can't just make the right call and win them every single time.
It's gonna be out of my hands and the team just needs to do the right thing in their positions and then we'll win rounds.
