Day one of BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 provided us with some top quality entertainment (although perhaps not always for the right reasons) and day two was no different as we saw the likes of Complexity, Falcons, and Virtus.pro all enter the fray.
All three of those teams could easily go all the way and qualify for BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 and they've started out on the right track as they each avoided upsets in their opening games.
Virtus.pro have struggled recently but they kicked off day two by taking down Zero Tenacity 2-0.
Map one was relatively uneventful, a 13-11 victory for VP on Anubis, but Zero Tenacity's brutmonster would have had them sweating with this crisp 1v4 at 11-7.
Map two was much of the same, although brutmonster picked up yet another highlight as he ripped off Jame's head through the Mid Doors on Dust2.
A 13-8 win for VP to close out the series, this backstab summed up Zero Tenacity's showdown experience.
One of the stars of last year's Fall Final, Complexity have taken a big step into making it to another as they took down Metizport 2-0.
Map one was a dominant 13-3 win on Ancient, and EliGE farmed on the second pistol round to ensure Metizport had no way back into the game at 9-3.
Map two started off with another pistol round highlight, but this time it was more of a lowlight as Sapec plummeted to his death on the B site.
He wasn't the only one, EliGE also took a tumble later on in the half.
6-6 at the half, the game remained close and eventually took us to an overtime. The map ended up one-sided in that overtime, however, and Complexity took the series thanks to a 16-12 scoreline.
If AMKAL vs NIP wasn't enough for you yesterday, Swisher and SunPayus made sure to give us a similar view of the game in the second half pistol round of Ancient.
That round gave Falcons a 9-4 lead, and they quickly saw off the game at 13-9 thanks to a star performance from their IGL, Snappi.
Dust2 started off in dominant fashion for Falcons as they got off to a 6-0 lead.
It could have been worse for M80, especially considering Lake somehow managed to miss dupreeh in Mid.
6-6 at the half, M80 managed to give themselves the advantage thanks to a win in the pistol round but dupreeh quickly tied the score back up with a nuts 4K defending Long from the A site.
It was then Magisk's time to shine and he went one better, pulling off an ace to clean up M80 as they tried to enter the B site.
Once again we were taken to overtime and although it was far closer than in the Complexity vs Metziport match, two rounds on each side from Falcons was enough to give them a 16-14 lead.
