In our preview of the BLAST Premier Fall Americas Showdown final between Complexity and Liquid, we spoke about how this match-up meant more than just securing a BLAST Premier Fall Final spot for both of these teams.
A match that was also going to decide who would end the year with the title of 'the best team in NA', Complexity had a coming-of-age moment as they dominated Liquid to win the game in two short maps.
With that domination in mind, let's get into the action.
Liquid started the brightest of the two teams as they began Anubis on the CT side. A win in the pistol round and subsequent conversion put them 2-0 up, but that was where it all came tumbling down for the Intel Grand Slam winning organisation.
Managing just two more rounds win in the remainder of the half, Liquid's defence was decimated by hallzerk and JT. The Norwegian was particularly impressive. The AWPer carved open the A site with a crisp 3k in one round.
Complexity continued their domination of their CT side, not suffering from the same holes Liquid had suffered from in the first half. hallzerk continued strong, and his 11-2 statline pushed him up to an impressive 25-8 with a monstrous 2.01 HLTV rating.
A meek performance by Liquid, YEKINDAR was their only player to even reach double figures in kills, the Latvian picked up 19 frags in the 16-4 loss.
In what quickly became a torrid T half for Liquid, it was only oSee who managed ten kills as Complexity held them to a 13-2 scoreline. A different story altogether for Complexity. Each team member finished the CT side in double figures for kills.
A short-lived final map in CS:GO for Liquid, they failed to win a map after the break and fell 16-2. A particularly weak game for YEKINDAR, his 0.23 HLTV-rated game was one of the worst performances of his entire professional career.
As for Complexity, their lowest HLTV rating was 1.40, which tells you how well their entire team played in what proved to be a very easy way to qualify for Fall Final.
