Making their debut with s1n, prosus, and mantuu at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023, it was all change for BIG in Copenhagen.
With s1n also stepping into the IGL role, it was never going to be easy for the German side as they get used to the way he wants to set up their team, but they fought valiantly and managed to collect a couple of much needed wins for their new side.
Pitted against Danish giants Heroic in their opening game, it came as no surprise when BIG suffered defeat at the hands of the BLAST Premier Spring Final winners.
A dominant team performance from Heroic, despite the best efforts of Krimbo and mantuu, the star duo couldn't do enough to prevent their team from falling 16-7, 16-8 on Overpass and Inferno respectively.
Facing off against another Danish team in their next game, BIG would this time pick up a win against Astralis. Also needing to bed in new players following the benching of both gla1ve and Altekz, it was a game that probably came too soon for the Danish side.
A 2-1 victory for the German team, it was Astralis who drew first blood as they won Ancient 16-9. A strong performance from b0RUP on CS:GO's newest map, the entirety of BIG's team struggled in what was a worrying opening map of the series.
BIG bounced back, however, and with a 16-10 victory on Ancient and a 16-14 victory on Overpass, they managed to take take down Astralis in the best of three. prosus had his best game on the main roster thus far on Ancient, while it was the star duo of Krimbo and mantuu whose performances would this time be enough to claim the victory on Overpass.
Setting themselves up for a game against the newly European core of NAVI, BIG would again suffer defeat as NAVI closed out the series in two maps. 16-11 on Ancient and 16-14 on Mirage, the duo of s1mple and iM proved to be too much for BIG to handle.
Sent down to the Gauntlet, BIG's first game in the single elimination bracket would be against fellow new team, OG. A 2-1 victory, former BIG player k1to tried his best on the deciding map of Ancient with 25 kills, but it was tabseN and s1n stepping up to combine for 57 kills that closed out the series for their team.
Their final game, a match against Vitality, was a bridge too far for the new BIG team. Having suffered a shock defeat at the hands of NIP, the BLAST.tv Paris Major champions weren't willing to let any more mistakes slip through, and a ruthless 16-11 showing on Ancient and 16-8 saw them qualify and BIG fall down to the Fall Showdown.
