Major RMR events always provide some of the biggest shocks and upsets of the year, and the European RMR A for the PGL Copenhagen Major was no different, as Falcons were eliminated with a 1-3 record.
After beating 3DMAX, Falcons lost in two BO1s against FaZe and Eternal Fire and failed to bounce back as they waved goodbye to their Major hopes and dreams with a 2-1 loss against Russian team AMKAL.
With the third of those losses being a massive upset, the organisation decided that something would have to change, and as a result, they've made what could be one of the biggest moves in Counter-Strike history.
Clearly deeming the result of the RMR unacceptable, there was speculation as to what Falcons may do next, but we don't think anyone would've been expecting this move to come to pass.
In a statement on their Twitter account, Falcons announced that BOROS was to be benched with the organisation citing "performance reasons" and a need to "move players into the correct roles and positions".
Reasons that may be hard to understand at a glance, it makes a bit more sense when you begin to look a little deeper, just as HLTV did in response to Falcons' elimination.
Replacing the Jordanian will be s1mple, who joins the team on loan for a month as they look to find a more solution.
This means he will play BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 with the team and, given SunPayus' place as the AWPer, will also be operating as a rifler for the first time since GuardiaN was benched by NAVI in 2020.
A move that we couldn't be more excited for given the chance. This means that the GOAT now stands a chance at being on the same server as Donk; Falcons will certainly be a dangerous prospect when the Showdown kicks off next month.
