MOUZ kicked off their season incredibly well at BLAST Bounty Season 2 by beating Team Spirit in the final, and will now play a rematch of that game here at BLAST Open Porto after a 2-0 win over Vitality in the second semi-final of the day.
A game in which Vitality will rue their missed chances on Dust2, the adverse effects of having a stand-in were felt in the series, as the team struggled without their normal glue man, mezii.
Starting out on Vitality’s pick of Dust2, MOUZ always looked the more confident of the two teams as they quickly put together a 4-0 lead. Vitality did then answer back with four rounds of their own, but another four from MOUZ saw them take an 8-4 lead onto their T side after xelex starred with 119 ADR.
MOUZ couldn’t carry that momentum into the second half, though, and Vitality had us thinking that this map might have a very unforeseen outcome when they surged to the lead with six rounds straight to make it 10-8.
However, with MOUZ absolutely on fire at this event, they managed to win five out of the next six rounds to close it out 13-11 with xelex topping the charts on 23 kills.
Mirage began with another four-round winning streak from the CT side, this time Vitality as they kicked it off with a retake and then managed to take down the force-buy despite losing three of their players in the process.
MOUZ found their feet eventually, though, and they took the lead 7-5 at the break as Spinx and torzsi combined for 22 kills.
Vitality then couldn’t catch a break on their own T side, registering just two rounds as MOUZ ran away with it, closing out the map and series with a 13-7 win.
