torszi: "We are one of the best teams right now"
One of the biggest stories of 2025 was the very one-sided rivalry between Vitality and MOUZ, but that rivalry was flipped on its head today as MOUZ got the better of Vitality with a 2-0 scoreline in the semi-finals of BLAST Open Porto.
After the game, we spoke to torzsi about the rivalry, where MOUZ stand in the world right now, and the impressive performances of xelex in the event.
“I don't think this takes any of the pain away”
Congratulations on the victory; it means you'll be playing your second BLAST final in as many events. How did you feel throughout the game?
I felt really good. On Dust2, we played really well on CT, and although I had some mistakes in the beginning, xelex played amazingly. I'm really proud of him.
xertioN and sycrone had a really good gameplan, and every time they took a timeout we won the next round. There was one on Mirage where we won with Tec-9s because of it.
It was a team effort, but xelex played amazing.
xertioN has been talking a lot about you guys being a top three team right now, so how do you feel about that?
I feel like we are one of the best teams right now. This season, we've beaten all of the big dogs: Falcons, Vitality, Spirit. Tomorrow, we play Spirit again, so we have one more chance to show that we belong there.
I interviewed you before the event, and you spoke then about needing to lower expectations because of the roster moves and the more inexperienced players. Are you surprised by how strong the performances are?
Yeah, and it's not about expectations because they can be lower, but if we're playing good CS and beating these teams, then expectations can change quickly.
You beat Spirit last time out at BLAST Bounty; do you think it will be different this time?
I think it will be different, yeah. They'll fight harder. We beat them last time, but now they're in better shape, so it will be a good game. They played well against Falcons today.
You've had your struggles against Vitality in the past couple of years. Does that make this win feel even better, or is there a little taken away from it because of their stand-in situation?
I don't think it will change that pain. Even if we won ten times, that year was so one-sided, and we could've been there, but it was them. It will hurt for a long time. I don't think this takes any of the pain away, but it feels good to beat them.
