The 0-2 games claimed their second victim today with Fluxo being eliminated by Liquid after a 2-1 defeat. The Brazilian side was the lowest-seed team in the entire tournament but pushed Liquid to the brink on their way out.
Not many people would have given Fluxo much of a chance heading into this Major. Opening up against their fellow Brazilians on Mirage, paiN was not just the name of their opponents, but what was being inflicted upon Fluxo as Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt's side utterly outclassed their compatriots 16-2.
It was a slight improvement against Monte later on the day, but it felt equally as hopeless on Overpass. Finishing out the first half down 12-3, Fluxo managed to muster a further 5 rounds before being condemned to the elimination game with a 16-8 scoreline.
Fluxo managed to put up quite a strong performance against Liquid, opening up on their own map pick of Nuke with a 16-13 win. Moving on to Inferno, the Brazilians looked like they were going to pull off the massive upset bringing it all thirty rounds, but it was not meant to be as Liquid closed in regulation, sending the tie to Ancient where Fluxo had the North Americans on the verge but were unsuccessful as Liquid won out 16-13.
When asked about what went wrong for them in Paris by BLAST.tv, Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato noted that the team was very nervous during their games, a factor which is understandable considering it was the first Major for several of their players.
