Team Vitality's Spaniard Star Stizzy: "I think it’s just a matter of time until I win a Major."
During media day, we sat down with some of the European players to talk some ball ahead of the Paris Major. Today’s interview? Vitality newcomer Stizzy.
Boston Major Preview: Three Favourites, Three to Watch & Underdogs
You seem to have had more consistent results the past couple of seasons, first with Dignitas and now with Vitality. What have you specifically been doing to ensure that?
I think I’m just grinding the game more. I think there’s a difference in professionalism between Dignitas and Vitality and so we’re grinding more and there are more resources used to help the players.
How did this roster come about?
Before I joined Vitality, I got a message from Zen and he asked me if I wanted to join. We didn’t do any tryouts before so I just joined the team.
“I think I just got unlucky that I lost two times in the Grand Finals of the last two majors. I think it’s just a matter of time until I win a Major. Maybe it’s the Paris Major, maybe it’s the next Major, so I just don’t care about that and I just play. The time will come.”

How confident are you coming into this Major?
I’m very confident. I think we showed that in the second split that we’re working very hard to try and win everything this season, so I think everyone in the team feels confident and we just have to show it in the major.
I think we can win [Paris and Worlds]. We can win everything. It just takes hard work and confidence and discipline. We are very good at the game and we just have to keep playing like how we’ve been playing and we can win it all.
How does it feel to be playing with players of this caliber, with both ExotiiK and Zen being World Champions?
I think it’s very nice to have two World Champions on my team.
In terms of pressure, I feel no pressure. I just have to do my job and they have to do theirs.
We are a team. If I miss, I miss, and if they miss, they miss.
I think I’m speaking for everyone when I say that we don’t feel any pressure to miss or anything.
How do comms work as a Spanish player teaming with two Frenchmen?
When we first started playing, I think it was kind of hard because they never teamed with a non-French player before. So at the beginning, it was hard. But they communicate very well in English.
