Bigodes is headed to Fort Worth for the Rocket League World Championship!

South America gave us our second of four total last chance qualifier bids.

The region will be sending the free agent squad of Drufinho, Bemmz, and Nxghtt to the RLCS World Championship to Fort Worth, Texas in September.

A thrilling Championship Friday started off with 6 teams, and ended with Drufo and co., playing under the name “Bigodes,” at the top of the pile.

Here’s a look back at how that Championship Sunday shook out.

Bigodes vs. Disasterclass

The day kicked off with a clash of two sets of veterans. The previously mentioned Bigodes took on Brad, Droppz, and LeoDkn, who were playing under the name “Disasterclass.”

This was an extra interesting matchup because Bigodes had LeoDkn on the roster the split prior before opting to snag Drufinho in May.

Leo landed with Brad and Droppz, who were 2/3rds of the MIBR squad that won last season’s SAM LCQ.

With MIBR opting to stick with Reysbull and retool for the next season, Brad and Droppz were once again free agents.

Disasterclass wasn’t able to taste LCQ glory in back-to-back years, as Bigodes dispatched of the trio in four games. Although the series was close in games 1-3, Bigodes ended up blowing out Disasterclass in game four, 5-0.

Plot Twist vs. Fofuchos

It was a fun sight seeing Sosa in his third different region, with the Canadian previously having a stint in APAC, as well as his home region of North America.

He joined forces with Royales, who had spent the year in North America over in Boston, Massachusetts for CRL, and Motta, who was on Team Secret before the squad faded down the stretch and dissolved near the end of the season.

The team played under the Plot Twist banner, an orgless team name owned by the Canadian veteran. They faced off against a pair of promising South American talents and a Brazilian RLCS OG.

OViitin and Misery are both pushing towards the upper echelon of the league, with the former debuting in the 2024 season and recently picking up three straight playoff appearances, and the latter debuting in the 2022-23 season and ending the season on a top 6 finish.

Their third, Davinsano, debuted in RLCS Season 7, which is the very first season that the Championship Series had a league in South America.

The series started out tight, with Plot Twist eking out a 1-0 victory on Mannfield, and Fofuchos responding with a 2-1 overtime win on Forbidden Temple.

The more experienced Plot Twist began to settle in after that, though, as they rattled off two more game wins, both by a 2 goal margin, to head to match point.

Fofuchos opted not to use a timeout and the effects were immediately clear, as Plot Twist jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning the final game of the series 5-0.

Bigodes vs. Novadrift

Novadrift had had a great tournament up to this point, going undefeated before the two week break between their upper round seeding match and the resumption of the top 6 on Friday.

The team is chalk full of exciting talent, with Brazilians KnS and Kevinacho, and Argentinian player Rmn.

KnS has been around for a while, but really started his breakout back in the 2022-23 season when he nearly made a Cinderella run all the way to a major with Exeed in the Winter Split.

After two straight second place finishes, Exeed dropped the ball in the final event of the split and finished in 5-8th, forcing them to play in a tiebreaker for the Major that they would go on to lose.

Rmn got his first shot under the True Neutral banner in that same season, but hasn’t been able to remove the lid off of his 5-6th place regional peak.

Kevinacho is a mechanical mastermind that came up through the True Neutral Academy system, debuting in the RLCS just last season.

The Brazilian has made great strides in the league this season with both iterations of the Novadrift roster, and didn’t miss a single playoff in any of the SAM regionals.

The young breakouts had a tough matchup against the veterans of Bigodes, but they didn’t make it easy. It was a back and forth affair with Bigodes taking the opener before dropping the next two.

They pulled even after a timeout, but Novadrift followed with a break of their own and pulled back in front.

With their backs against the wall, the vets on Bigodes fought hard for a 3-1 win on Neo Tokyo, and survived on Champions Field to move to the Grand Finals.

BS+Competition vs. Plot Twist

The favorites in BS+ clashed with the third seeded Plot Twist roster in the other semifinal.

BS+, made up of Kv1, Crn, and Wisty, were tired of playing third fiddle to MIBR and FURIA, and after the collapse of Team Secret, they had a chance to win the LCQ and show up on the biggest stage of them all.

Kv1 has really come into his own in his career, and has survived so many ups and downs to get to the spot he’s at.

Wisty has been provided with ample opportunities to grow his game, especially with a pretty early investment from organization w7m, but hasn’t managed to break through to the LAN stage just yet.

Crn was also coming into the LCQ off of a career regular season, where he finished fourth or higher in every single event in the 2026 regionals this year.

The trio combined to be a tough out for anyone in the tournament, but Plot Twist did give them a run for their money.

Plot Twist came out the gate quick, snatching the first game in a two minute overtime. BS+ took the next two before PT brought it back to even off the heels of another OT win.

The Zebras managed to stay strong and take back the series lead, forcing Plot Twist to take a tactical timeout that did little to slow down the herd of black and white (and blue?) from storming through game 6 and into the Grand Finals, leaving Plot Twist behind in a cloud of smoke.

Bigodes vs. BS+ Competition

This series was probably the most expected outcome we could have gotten.

Two former players of the top two SAM teams of last season, dropped for two younger, more mechanical talents, leading new trios into battle to claw their way back to LAN.

And man was it a barn burner. Bigodes would have the upper hand for most of, if not all of the series. They took the opener, conceded the second game, and then took the next two for a 3-1 lead.

BS+ didn’t let up, however, taking back to back hotly contested games to knot the series at 3 and force game 7.

Bigodes used their experience to get the edge however, and completely shut out the once potent BS+ offense on Champions Field.

Drufinho will make his fourth straight World Championship appearance off the back of the LCQ win, while Bemmz and Nxghtt will finally return to the most prestigious tournament in Rocket League after missing out the past two seasons.
