Road To Vostok: How To Find The First NPCs
You might be surprised to learn that Road To Vostok has quests, I mean, kind of… The few NPCs spread throughout the game’s areas have Tasks that you can complete, which are essentially specific Barter combinations that reward you with items.
To get those complete and to Barter the items you have no use for, though, you’ll need to know where they are. Here is how to find the first NPCs in Road To Vostok.
Road To Vostok Generalist Location
The Generalist is the first NPC you’ll find in Road To Vostok. He is located in the game’s first area, the Village. Finding him is actually quite simple. Exit your Cabin and turn to your right. You’ll spot a train-track. Follow it until you find a big warehouse on your left.
Head towards the warehouse, turn right, and enter the first door on your left. The Grumpy generalist is inside, smoking a cigarette with his arms crossed. As the name implies, the mustachioed man sells a bit of everything.
Doctor Location
The second NPC you’ll meet in Road To Vostok is the Doctor, but you can’t actually meet him in your first in-game day. The game has a full 24h cycle (which takes around 2 and a half real life hours to complete), and the Doctor only shows up on the second day, as evidenced in the Events screen.
Finding the Doctor is a big tricky, especially because you need to head to the School zone, first. Here’s how to get there, starting from the Cabin.
Transitioning To The School
Exit the Cabin and turn right, following the train track as if you were heading towards the Generalist. Instead of getting inside the Warehouse, stay to its right, heading towards the houses. When you reach the road, follow it to your right until you spot a smaller dirt road heading left.
Now just follow that one until it connects to another main road. You’ll see an abandoned barn in front of you. Follow the main road towards your right and you’ll find the red and white signal identifying a map transition. That’s how you make your way to the School.
Finding The Doctor
Once you enter the area, finding the Doctor is straight forward, literally. You’ll see a long road ahead of you. Follow it across the bridge, and you’ll spot an actual School on your left side. It is a massive building, you can’t miss it.
Enter through the door closest to you, and be careful, there can be multiple Bandits inside. On your right you’ll find a set of stairs, go up to the last floor, enter the corridor and get inside the first door on your right. You’ll find the Doctor there.
While he sells other items too, the Doctor specializes in Medical items. He will be your best source of Antiseptic and Rags (used to craft Improvised Bandages), Bandages, and Painkillers (needed for a Generalist task).
Make sure to add all his Tasks to your notes, some of them are quite easy to complete.
