The Fremen Deathstill in Dune Awakening is one of the more useful and strange devices you’ll come across. It’s not something you’ll get access to right away, but once you do, it becomes a reliable way to get Water on Arrakis.
If you're trying to unlock it or figure out how to use it, this guide breaks it all down in a simple way.
To unlock the Fremen Deathstill schematic, you’ll need to complete the Eighth Trial of Aql. This won’t be available until you’ve finished the first seven Trials, so it’s something you’ll unlock later in your progress.
Once the Eighth Trial is done, you’ll get access to the schematic without needing to spend any Intel. After that, you can build the device using the Construction Tool.

Crafting the Deathstill requires gathering a few materials. You’ll need:
You also need to place it near a Sub-Fief Console and make sure it’s connected to a Base Power Generator that can give it 200 Power.
You’ll use the Construction Tool to actually build it. The Deathstill has 1,250 health, so it’s not too fragile, but you should still place it somewhere safe at your base.
Using the Deathstill is pretty simple once it’s set up. First, you need corpses. You can find them by defeating enemies out in the world, then storing them in your Buggy and hauling them back to your base.
Once you're there, place a corpse on the Deathstill. It takes one hour to process the body and gives you 25,000 ml of Water. Just make sure the device is powered, or it won’t work.
The Deathstill is a buildable item under the Water Discipline tab in your Research options.
It's designed to pull Water out of corpses, which fits right into the survival-focused design of the game. It’s a bit macabre, but on Arrakis, Water is Water.
