Fishing Rods are pretty much the main gear you care about in Fish an Anime RNG. You use them to catch anime characters, and as you keep progressing, you can swap your basic Rod for something with much better stats.
The Steel Rod is where everyone starts. You get it during the tutorial, so there is nothing special you need to do to unlock it. Its stats are obviously low compared to everything else, but that's fine for your first few catches.
The Ice Rod is one of the early upgrades and gives you a pretty decent jump over the beginner Fishing Rods. You get 80x Luck and 180 Total Strength, while the 3.75x Speed makes fishing noticeably quicker.
The Gold Rod sits further into your progression and gives you 410x Luck with 550 Total Strength. It also reaches 7.5x Speed, which is the same Speed you'll see on several stronger Fishing Rods.
The Iron Rod is your first major step up from the Steel Rod. It has 30x Luck, 2.5x Speed, and 75 Total Strength. You can purchase it with Cash once you've moved past the tutorial.
The Ruby Rod is a solid mid-to-late-game option. It comes with 720x Luck and 920 Total Strength, while keeping the 7.5x Speed you get from the Gold Rod.
The Amethyst Rod is another earlier upgrade that becomes available as you work through Rebirths. It has 210x Luck, 5.5x Speed, and 300 Total Strength.
The Void Rod is the second-strongest Fishing Rod currently available. It gives you a massive 4,700x Luck, 7.5x Speed, and 7,850 Total Strength.
The Astral Rod is an endgame Fishing Rod with 1,150x Luck, 7.5x Speed, and 1,700 Total Strength. It's a clear upgrade over the Ruby Rod and gives you enough Strength to start dealing with heavier characters.
The Rod of Heaven's is currently the best Fishing Rod in Fish an Anime RNG. It has 22,500x Luck, 7.5x Speed, and a ridiculous 27,500 Total Strength.
Fishing Rods can be purchased from the Fishing Rods Shop in the game's plaza. Head over to the Fishing Rods station and interact with the NPC to see the available equipment.
You won't be able to grab every Fishing Rod immediately. The stronger ones are locked behind Rebirth requirements, so you'll need to keep resetting your progression and building up your Rebirth count.
You'll also need Cash for Fishing Rods that have a purchase price. Cash comes from the anime characters placed in your base, so your catches are basically helping fund the next upgrade.
