One of the most hated maps in Escape From Tarkov is Lighthouse. Ever since its release back in 2022, players have had issues with how poor the map ran, how wide open its center is, and how unbalanced the Rogues are for Bear players.
After some months of promises, Battlestate Games has finally released the Lighthouse Rework and brought with it new tasks to Escape From Tarkov. Here’s every new task and Lighthouse changes.
Here is the main list of changes now live on Lighthouse:
On top of all these changes to the map, BSG also reworked how Lightkeeper functions. Players who want to access Lightkeeper now need to progress the Tour quest until they can access Lighthouse from the menu (giving 20k USD to Mechanic) and reach loyalty level 3 with all Traders, except for Ref and Fence.
Once they’ve done that, talking with Mechanic will start the To the Light questline, eventually leading to unlocking the Lightkeeper.
Lastly, most map resources are still updating Lighthouse to the new version, but Re3mr have already updated their 3d render, including the BTR stops and the new Rogue Caches. Check it out here.
We’re not sure how temporary the new taskline is. BSG simply described it as so in the patch notes, but they haven’t given us any specific dates. They might line up with the Kordbreach tasks, which means they’d become unavailable once the season ends.
Prapor’s questline, starting with Fog of War, will eventually lead to some juicy rewards, so that one is certainly worth completing. We’ll have a guide for it soon.
Beyond this, Lighthouse now has a red skull mark on the menu because Glukhar and his minions have taken over the Water Treatment Plant. He is at 100% spawn rate for now and will show up either in the middle of the Plant or around building 2.
