BLAST has officially opened its host destination process for 2027 and 2028, its biggest yet, inviting cities and regions worldwide to express interest in hosting major live competitive entertainment events across its global portfolio.
In 2025, BLAST delivered 15 arena shows across 10 countries in four continents with more than 190,000 tickets sold to these events while working with the world’s biggest publishers and fan-favourite games. These numbers are expected to increase even further in the coming years (projecting 250,000+ tickets per year).
The competitive process includes live arena events across Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, Rainbow Six and Brawl Stars, alongside new competitive entertainment formats. Across 2027 and 2028, BLAST expects to deliver at least 40 live arena events worldwide, reinforcing its position as one of the leading competitive entertainment producers globally.

On average, over 70 percent of fans travel from outside the host city, with daily fan spend exceeding $200 and strong levels of repeat visitation driven by the live event experience. BLAST events are viewed by more than 100 million people live on average and generate substantial global media exposure for host destinations.
Last year’s record-breaking BLAST.tv Austin Major was is an example of the value esports events can bring destinations, a report prepared by Angelou Economics revealed that the Counter-Strike Major generated over $102 million in total economic impact, making it one of the most impactful sporting events ever hosted in North America with fans attending from all 50 states and 37 countries.

James Woollard, VP Destinations & Market Development at BLAST, said:
