Saberlight joins the reigning TI champions Team Liquid, strengthening their lineup for the upcoming season. He takes over the off-lane role previously held by Neta "33" Shapira, who joined Tundra Esports after their TI victory.
Team Liquid’s signing of Saberlight comes at a crucial juncture following the departure of the TI-winning captain 33, who left to join Tundra Esports, a team with whom he won his first-ever TI, to build his own team.
Saberlight will take on a full-time role with Team Liquid, a team he has previously filled in for and will have big shoes to fill. He filled in for Team Liquid at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 in Malaysia, where they placed third.
The charismatic offlaner last played at The International 2024 qualifiers with Team Bald’s casual pub-stack. They cruised through the open qualifiers but ultimately crashed in the closed qualifier round without making it too far.
With four years of experience playing top-tier Dota 2 in North America, Saberlight has been a part of successful teams like Team Undying, TSM, and Shopify Rebellion. Before joining Team Liquid, he took a short break due to internal conflicts flaring up within Shopify.
With this signing, Team Liquid’s roster for the upcoming season is locked as they defend their title of being the best Dota 2 team in esports.
