In a stunning upset, Parivision outclassed Team Liquid, sending them packing from BLAST Slam I. The reigning TI champions suffered a humiliating defeat by the CIS team in the quarterfinal in a 2-0 whitewash.
Parivision hands a crushing defeat to Team Liquid in the first quarterfinal of BLAST Slam I, eliminating the reigning TI champions from the tournament. The series was a highly anticipated one with many expecting Team Liquid to cruise to victory, however, Parivision defied expectations, delivering a dominant performance that left fans and analysts stunned.
Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko was the star of the show because of his dominant performance in both games. The Ukrainian player was a menace and Team Liquid had no answer to deal with his aggressive plays.
Parivision's early game dominance, fueled by Noone's exceptional Sniper performance, set the tone for the first game. He dealt 47k damage, more than Nisha and Micke combined, further adding to Liquid’s woes. Overwhelmed by Parivision's aggression, Liquid conceded the first game.
Despite having a better draft in game two, Liquid gave away Earth Spirit, one of Noone’s signature heroes, casting a shadow over Liquid’s hope for a comeback.
According to Caps, who messaged Team Liquid’s coach, Blitz, for his opinion on the draft had the same response – if Earth Spirit couldn’t be contained then that would pose a series threat to Team Liquid. And it did!
While Team Liquid had a decent lead during the early game with Nisha going rampant on Tiny, Parivision had it all figured out. All three Parivision cores, Earth Spirit (Noone), Centaur (DM) and Razor (Crystallis) were heavily farmed and outclassed Liquid’s core. Even the supports had a better game than most of Liquid’s core players, leading to an easy path towards victory.
Parivision's masterclass performance, highlighted by a 47-23 score, resulted in Team Liquid's elimination from BLAST Slam I. This victory secures Parivision a top 4 finish in the tournament.
BLAST Slam I is turning out to be a nightmare for the favourites as both Team Falcons and Team Liquid have been eliminated.
