In this exclusive BLAST interview, Edgar "9Class" Naltakian discusses his departure from Tundra and missing TI13, as well as his vision for Parivision.
How was it missing out on TI13?
At first, I was upset about not being able to attend TI. However, Paragon offered me a great opportunity to cast TI13. With so much on my plate, I almost forgot about missing out on TI.
Why didn’t you continue with Tundra Esports after TI13?
When Saksa returned to the team, Tundra wanted to play with him. As a result, I had to leave the team.
How did the Parivision roster come together?
I was unexpectedly asked to form a new team by Noone, which I agreed to. We invited DM and Crystallis to the team, and then added Dukalis, a friend of mine, to the position 5 role. Parivision later approached us with a sponsorship offer. That’s how the team was formed.
What is your vision for this year?
We want to win as many tournaments as we can.
How confident are you winning BLAST Slam I?
We're ready to compete again after a short break, and we're excited about the new tournament format. It’s something different and we want to see how we perform.
What is the team currently lacking?
We lack discipline and patience. We also need to prioritize our drafts because sometimes it gets easy to read us so we need to change them and develop our own play style.
How are preparations for BLAST Slam I going with pantomem as a stand-in for Dukalis?
We are doing fine but haven’t had the opportunity to scrim a lot with pantomem. We only played two scrims a day before the tournament so it’ll be more about having fun and enjoying ourselves while playing the game.
How do you plan to keep up with the momentum the team is currently having right now?
We should get better results moving forward. We got in the top 4 in the last two tournaments, but now we are at least eyeing a podium finish from henceforth.
Parivision is scheduled to play against Heroic in the first elimination series later today.
